Dog Fight

I witnessed a Dog Fight today (not cat fight).

It was the usual routine of taking Princess Gabby socializing with other doggies and also for her training lesson. Maggie taught us “Recall” exercise today. We were supposed to give command to our dogs to sit and stay; while we walked confidently away from them; then called them to come towards us.

A few of us did the exercise one by one.

I was taking a break with Princess Gabby at the side of the park; whilst it was Sunday’s turn. Sunday’s handler, Deborah, (who is only about max 12 years old I think) was doing the Recall exercise with Maggie giving instructions. She was resting with Sunday under the tree after the exercise. Suddenly, Sunday dashed towards this Siberian Husky, who was lepaking at the pavement with his owner, Carmen. Carmen has been absent from class for many weeks. Sunday got so furious and aggressive! He practically attacked the poor grey fellow. Maggie managed to separate both Golden Retriever and the Siberian Husky.

It was Snowy’s turn to do the exercise. While Maggie was guiding him through, Sunday dashed to the Siberian Husky again!!!! To my utter horror, Sunday was so strong that he pushed the Siberian Husky on the ground. Both dogs got really violent –one attacked and the other defended; but Sunday overpowered the Husky. Sunday was biting his neck!!! Carmen was shouting for help and poor Deborah was just shocked and didn’t know what to do. Her legs were as if planted onto the ground. Maggie hurried over and pulled the leash away. Her hand got bitten and it was bleeding; so was Carmen’s mother’s hand.

(I didn’t get take snap any pictures as I was busy holding on to Princess Gabby close to me)

I was grabbing on to Princess Gabby, and calming her down. I was worried that Princess Gabby might run over to be a Kay Poh Chee.

I was really glad that both Princess Gabby and I weren’t hurt.

Maggie gave a “friendly lecture” to Deborah and her mother- on how to handle when the dog attacks other dogs. Deborah felt so bad with what happened. She cried. Poor little girl. I am sure she was shocked and in fear still.

Carmen, her mum and Husky left earlier. She shed tears when Sunday attacked her dog. I could feel her anger towards Sunday too. Can tell that she really loves her dog a lot.

Anyways, at the end of the session, Maggie informed us that we will be having our exam in January 09! There will be a graduation ceremony for the doggies too!

So cute! =)

When we got home, I fed Princess Gabby. By just looking at her, I was really glad that the both of us were safe from what happened today. I supposed the both of us were just scary-cat.

Okay, I am safe under the car....

Cheers!
