Richie Rich

I was invited to Rado new store opening in Starhill today in conjunction with Starhill Timepiece Gallery thingy going on there. I was privileged to be there…..

The traffic going down to Starhill was horrendous due to the rain and nearing after office hours. I was “fishing” in the car after coming out from Smart Tunnel. Cars were just bumper to bumper. For such a short stretch, my car was still for 45 minutes!

I arrived at Starhill and managed to get a parking lot near the entrance to the mall.

I waited for awhile at the couch till Nicole came to greet me. She was nice enough to bring me in first to the event area. I walked into Rado and checked out the watches there. Wow, the price ranges start from RM10k and above. On the way out from the store, I dropped my name card (was trying my luck for the lucky draw session) and collected my goodie bag.

I didn’t see anyone I knew there, so I continued to take a short tour. I checked out every single watches being showcased there.

I spotted this! I liked the design and the bling- bling….

The price tag showed RM 110,000.00

Okay…as I was admiring the beauty of it and my mind being wandered off thinking that the watch is on my wrist, this lady attendant approached me. She explained to me the origins of the watch and it was a limited edition! There is only 8 pieces of this model in the world.

I definitely cannot afford that. I moved on checking out the rest for the fun of it.

Later, I met Hot Hoo Chi and we started chatting. I was introduced to a few other people at the table while having champagne. I had 3 glasses of champagne I think. Kind of lost count…..

Celina Khor from 3R came later and she joined us. To my utter surprise, I found out that she was actually my senior. She was from the same high school that I went to! What a small world.

Xandria, Susan and Yuri arrived. We greeted each other and hung around for awhile.

There was a lucky draw and I was hoping that I could get it.

WHY?

It is because the prize was a RADO WATCH!!!!!

Hmm….what is fated not to be yours, will not be yours. =)

Around 8pm, people started to leave the event. Susan and I left for dinner at Pavilion. We enjoyed the dinner and the conversation we had.

Later, I drove home. Thank goodness traffic was smooth.

Overall, it was an enjoyable evening.

A real eye opener to the Rich and Famous World; I would say.

Cheers!!!!

New friends....
