Yesterday was one of those late nights in the office. On top of that, my day started quite crappy…
WHY?
I woke up with a slight body ache and my nose was still running (despite of the double dose of the flu medicine I took the night before) = Slight FLU.
I was feeling sick in the morning.
I was packed with work - getting ready for my Monday launch plus I had a meeting to attend in the evening. Being a first timer in the meeting with other colleagues and the Country Manager, I was stressed up. I didn’t know what to expect from her.
Finally, the meeting ended at 6.30pm. More work added to my plate.
Made phone calls to the supplier who didn’t deliver the items I ordered – not until I picked up the phone to practically scream at the person! It was closed to 7pm and my stuff was still not delivered?! (Gosh, I felt so bad after that. I was really stressed up and I hope he understands. Sorry !!!). Ran around the office, didn’t have much quiet time to really sit down to do my work; not until 8pm.
I finally got a chance to sit at my little cubicle to go through my paperwork, checked a long lot of emails and worked on the press releases and continued with my script for Monday.
While I was going through the emails, I spotted one that caught my attention. The email was from Regional office in Singapore and they want me to do a presentation on the project (can’t disclose it yet) that I initiated and still on-going, in January during the conference meeting!
I was (and still am) freaking out big time. Hmm….presenting to a group of people say 50-60 of them? And some of them are Big boss, Big Big boss, the Head of Marketing…. I will have someone with me during that session, but most of the talking will be by me!
Okay, okay. I ought to better calm down and did I have to for Monday.
…..and the continuation of work…..and preparation……..
10pm, 11pm, 12am came….time just passed so darn fast last night.
I felt that it was time to go home. And so I took the outstandings home to complete it.
Suddenly, I realized that my body ache was gone, and so was my running nose.
Weird?!
Maybe because I got too busy till I had forgotten about the pain.
