So Long, Farewell....

1255am, here I am sitting in front of my PC.

I got back from a 4-in-1 farewell party at Neway an hour ago.

It was rather a rushing working day for me as I couldn’t work late today.

I had ‘The Farewell Party’ to attend. The ‘Farewell’ that I wished it never took place.

Why did I say 4-in-1?

It was a farewell party for GH, one of the Educator, who will be leaving us on Friday. The second person who will be leaving me is my manager, EML. Third will be Mr.Ho, the NSM of the company. Lastly was my dearest-always-polite-efficient-receptionist, Richard (it was a belated farewell for Richard).

The gathering started off well. There were 17 people in the room. We enjoyed the great buffet dinner and also took turns to sing our favourites. Chatting and laughing was all we did.

There were still smile plastered on our faces and hearty laughter until we had a “fun-yet-serious moment”. We dedicated a few meaningful songs to the 4 of them. We wished them all the best in their future endeavors, even though it was sad for them to leave. But if it is for their better future, we should be happy for them.
Most of us had warm tears rolled down our cheeks. I did too. I know I will miss my manager, EML, a lot because she has been great to me. She understands me and has taught me a lot – not only work wise, but also a trick or two in life. I don’t deny there were some frustrating moments as we were loaded with work, but overall our relationship was good. We respect each other and have collaborated as much as we can. Backed each other up. I know she supported me in many ways.

Me & my Boss

After "cleansing" our eyes....

GH – the Educator who helped me a lot. He fulfilled my requests (and last minute requests) for magazine photo shoots. He is pretty experience in what he is doing. He would never turn me down whenever I asked him for opinions or information.

GH & me

Mr Ho, the NSM. Even though I have never dealt directly with him, but overall, he is a nice man. A gentleman, I would say. In addition, he is also a very experience person in sales.

Lastly is Richard. Richard is the nicest receptionist who I have ever met. I know, you might be thinking : “Huh? A male receptionist?” Yes, even though he is male receptionist, but he is a super polite and well-mannered person. I could still remember the day I called up the office and asked for directions to the office for my interview. He directed me patiently. When I stepped in the office, he was the person who passed me the form to fill up. I have received compliments on him from my suppliers, media people and even a visitor in the office. Everyone loves him!!!!

Me, Mr Ho and Richard

It was sad when we parted for the night - as these people will be leaving us soon, leaving me. I would have to adapt without them around.

But one thing for sure is they will always be my friends. They will always be close to my heart.
