It was Friday. A slightly different Friday for me.
Mamma Mia came to my house in the morning and we left for work in 1 car. We went for breakfast at the nearby kopitiam. I conveniently packed a simple lunch because I know I would be rushing for my reports. Deadline was yesterday.
And so, I was in the office from morning till late afternoon.
I left the office at 4.30pm and headed to the heart of the city. Mamma Mia, Spider Sam and I were there for a meeting till 7pm. After that, Mamma Mia wanted to do some CNY shopping. So, Mamma Mia and I both walked happily in Sg Wang for awhile; Spider Sam went on his own to check out some jackets.
It had been ages since I last stepped into Sg. Wang for shopping. Even though it is quite a rowdy place to be in, but it was still nice to be able to check out some good bargains there!
See! I managed to buy this unexpectedly! New arrivals!
And I managed to also buy 2 belts that fit me for RM50, which doesn’t look like RM25 each.
After an hour of a lil’ shopping spree quickie, Spider Sam suggested to bring us for dinner somewhere in Ampang.
Dinner was good. It was an enjoyable one.
Don’t ask me how to get there, but I know the route going there was really dark. The stony, narrow, pitch dark road, surrounded by jungle and bushes on both sides. Going there was so bumpy that the pebbles were dancing around. It was great adventure.
On the way there, memories flood my mind. All the different types of adventure and scenes were playing in my mind.
Before I went down the car, I thought to myself.
“The route here was pitch black. There weren’t any street lights along the stony kampong road. It was so dark that no one in the right mind would think there is a restaurant at the end of the road. It depicts us in our life – when we are walking a dark, quiet path and thinking that it will lead us to a dead end. But if we give a bit of hope and faith, there might be something good and unexpected installed for us. Our findings at the end of the dark path might be a gem; which put a smile on our face as long as we hang on tight and embrace it; fight through the difficult times and obstacles.”
There were approximately 10 cars parked at the empty land.
The restaurant is not exactly a glamorous or posh restaurant; but it was brightly lit up. It is just made up of wooden pillars and attap huts. The tables are located on stilts as below it is a fishing pond. A really nice and serene place to be in. The place is so isolated that the whole restaurant and kitchen was lit up with a huge generator.
The three of us ordered 5 dishes. The grilled lamb was super-yummy-delicious. Succulent and the natural sweetness oozed out even on the first bite. The Thai styled steamed fish was more than enough to feed at least 5 people. We also had 2 plates of vegetables and a plate of fried chicken.
Total bill? RM 69.00.
Surprisingly cheap! It was really cheap and the best thing was, the food was fresh and tasty and we got to enjoy all these in a serene place with a peaceful pond.
By the time we were home, it was already close to midnight. Yes, a Cinderella I was.
I slapped on a DVD after my bath till my eyes were heavy.
It was time to pull the comforter over me.
Ok, I got to go now. I am late for drinks with my buddy!
Ciao!
