Golden Question of the Year

Mum wiggled her way to pop me the question again when we went shopping the other day.

Mum: “So, how are you lately? Did you meet anyone?”
Me : “Mum, I have been very busy lately and didn’t go out much. The office is my second home. Hence, I did not meet anyone. I also didn’t go for any events to meet people.”
Mum: “ I know you have been busy. But work is work, you need to get out of the house and meet some people.”
Me : “Yea, I will, once my work is all organized and on track. I would like to also have Gabby continue with her second level of learning.”
Mum: “Aiyah, you should be spending more time with human and not dogs!”
Me : “Mum, most importantly is to have money. As long as one is self-sufficient, it’s not too bad after all.”
Mum: “Yeah, wait till you are old. See you feel the loneliness or not?”

(I just kept quiet after that)

Chinese New Year is just a week away. I can already foresee that “Do you have a boyfriend” or “When are you getting married” question will be coming my way from my relatives. I just know it. I’ve already planned how to answer them discreetly.

But anyhow, I suppose this is my personal life and thanks for your kind concern. I know I am at that age of settling down with someone or even maybe have a kid by now, but unfortunately I am not as lucky as other girls. I have yet to meet the “right man”.

But, I am a-O-K-A-Y with it. I know things will come my way.
