*super grin*
I drove to BearieTeng’s office and waited for her. We went to Carrefour to shop for our night event. We quickly grabbed the items on the list – from paper plates, drinks, chips, cans of beer to a 5 litre mineral water bottle. MoneyMagnetBabe joined us at the check-out counter.
While MoneyMagnetBabe was paying for the groceries, I walked over to KFC to buy our all time favourite – Popcorn Chicken!!!! I ordered 3 large servings to go. Later, I met up with BearieTeng and MoneyMagnetBabe at Domino’s.
** Off topic a little: while I was waiting for my Popcorn Chicken, I noticed there were quite a fair bit of people walked into KFC and ordered to go. I supposed nowadays most people wants to avoid the traffic (human and motor), they pack dinner home to countdown instead. **
So, with the trolley of food and bags of take-outs, we walked to the car park and got into our cars after the “unloading”.
On the way there, a list of my favourite songs were played over the radio, one after another. To me, it was as if a sign. A sign to a good start for the year of 2009. Call me superstitious. =)
We met up at our “celebration venue” after 10 minutes.
What did we do all night long? Well, we had a few visitors before the clock stroke 12am.
One of the visitors was the main highlight as she was – BabyRapper G. Let me show you what I meant by BabyRapper G.
The visitors were LawyerLawyer’s parents and cousins. They made a move when BabyRapper G had fully utilized her energy in her little body.
*Bing Bang…..Bing Bang….Phew….*
We were very excited! All 6 of us ran out from the room (a few of us just ran out barefooted) to the verandah. We watched the beautiful fireworks! The fireworks lasted for about 5-8 minutes. The sight was just awesome..!
After the sky turned back to the original pitch black with tinge of white smoke, we exchanged hugs and greetings of “Happy New Year”. We walked back to the room.
It was really great to have a group of besties together; besties who went through thick and thin for each other for the past 15 years.
Another happy, good news was announced after midnight. 5th Fookie will be tying the knot on Boxing Day 2009!!!!! We will be her “ji-muis” on her Big Day.
**Wedding bells ringing in our heads….**
Ok, so right after the announcement was made, we started to plan and discuss about her wedding. What will the color theme for the bride and the wedding? What color should we wear and what sort of dresses? The discussion just went on and on and on……and later branched out to “having babies”. We told 5th Fookie that we will all be God-ma (s) to the baby. So, since there are 5 of us in the group, she should have 5 kids. Each of us will be 1 baby’s God-ma. Ok, maybe we were just slightly high with the French wine we had…..
We were just very excited about it.
I was really happy to hear the good news. 5th Fookie has found her happiness and there is someone to take care of her, walk down the new path in her life – married life.
We knocked off at 3am.
*Lights out*
That was the FILLED-WITH-FUN-LAUGHTER-HAPPY-NIGHT to welcome 2009.
