Just leave me - Don't Trigger Me

I clearly remembered
how you said you dislike going to an island; simply because it is isolated and you feel insecure without any on-land transportation. I know people tend to change after some sort of experiences in life, and you did as well in this case. I would also say the convincing power and persuasion were great! Good job! Bravo! You didn't have to cover up by saying who you were with, cos' I knew it was otherwise. Sad to say, I hell knew you didn’t change your style of conveying the message to me – through loads of bullshit and lies.

I didn’t understand why you ought to do so. Why? You didn’t have to cover up because you wanted me to feel better or else. Hell no, cos’ I won’t! I am only furious that you didn’t change this. Don't get me wrong.

You have disappoint me.

Or…

…maybe you shouldn’t even have told me about it. I didn’t even need to know. Because I am out of your life; so are you!

You can have and I know you will have all the fun there regardless how you complaint about “it”….because deep down inside me, I know it is just loads of crap you said and you are having a hell of a gala good time.

Please just leave me alone.

Cont' of The Loooooooong One....

To continue babbling about yesterday…..what I did after the long, tiring day was .....….
............to Karaoke

Yes, I first got myself exhausted by not having enough sleep for the past few weeks , and then I got my body worked out from head to toes by running around, carrying stuff and looking high up to check on my posters during the day. At night, I was screeching away in the private room.

It was CJ7’s farewell party. He is moving on to another company for better prospect.

We had the farewell party at Times Square’s Neway. I attacked the buffet counters once we arrived. I was starving! Even though the food selection is not as good as the one in Subang, but I cared less. I was hungry!

It was a fun, ‘tiring’ night out. There were endless songs played and various ‘singers’ in the house. I obviously wasn’t one of them..hehehhee….. The room of filled with thundering loud laughter as well. Some of them were dancing and jumping around. Everyone just had a good gathering time…..
* I didn’t have too many snapshots as I was too lazy to move about.*

One of my partners in crime...

We left at 12am and by the time I reached home, it was 12.30am. My eyes were hurting (from the long hours of contact lenses stuck to my eyes I suspected).

Greetings from Me

Hello there!

I am the shy Gabby....Nice to meet you!

The Looooooooooong One

The alarm went off at 5.30am. I off it unconsciously and I went back snoozing. I woke up suddenly and found the clock showing 5.45am! Shit! I was supposed to get up earlier because Mamma Mia and Ipohmali were to meet me at 6.45am.

I rushed in for a shower and got ready. Slipped on a black polo-T shirt and jeans. Yes, it was the day to be a kuli.

I drove my lil’ black car to Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The sky was still quite dark. The traffic was still kind to me. I didn’t get caught in a bad jam. The whole journey took approximately 20 minutes, with great gratitude to NPE and Smart Tunnel.

I managed to get a parking lot. Unloaded the boxes, packed breakfast and buntings off my limited-boot-space-boot. So, the 4 of us were like FedEx delivery girls and guys having boxes and bags in both hands.

The preparation for the event had begun! It was Trend Vision 09 trend release for 250 pax. Not as big as the one we did for 1000 pax last year. We have our hair trends set each year and it was time to launch it to the public – at least the hairdressers and media partners.

When I stepped my foot into the ballroom, I was really impressed! I was very happy and glad to see such a simple yet nice runway. A 48 feet long white-wash runway.

Without wasting any time, we started off with dressing up the venue. Models were coming in for their rehearsals, getting their hair and make up done. Suppliers started with their installation of the huge-giant buntings beside the framed-up projector- screen-backdrop. All of us had our own responsibilities yesterday. We were running all around, getting things done.

I had my packed lunch quite early so that I would have time for the last check and ensuring everything was A-Okay. I managed to squeeze sometime to freshen up a little and changed my clothes in the ladies. I cannot be wearing what I wore to greet my glamorous guests and media partners!

Right after that, I went through the preso slides with the AV guy. I was a lil’ worried, so I made sure I double, triple counter checked that all videos and slides were running well and in the correct order. It was my responsibility to cooperate with the presenter. *I was quite stressed up because I couldn’t afford any hiccups during the presentation.*

Guests started to come in at 2pm. The foyer was filled with yummy food and people. The registration counters were getting busy. Finally, the show started at 2.45pm. Models started to march on stage and so the preso started.

Xandria was the emcee for the day, and also one of the models for one of my 4 hair themes - InterseXion. Her dark black shiny hair was dyed with brown streaks around the crown area, which was pretty cool! It looked quite futuristic and funky. She carried the hairstyle with indescribable charisma and style.

Everything went on well and I was stressed free once the preso was done. The second section of the event started. I was freer to move around and watch the show; in between of course some socializing time with the attendees.

Of course, there was time for photo opportunities as well! How can I miss that out, right?

Xandria and I

Can you find me? Not too hard to find the plain jane. I wasn't the Mama San, don't get me wrong.

5.30pm, the event ended and it was time to change back to the ‘kuli’ clothes to work. All of us worked hand in hand to clear off the stuff and packed up. The warehouse colleagues were here to send all the big items back to the office.

Haha, this was one of the highlights of the day! I’ve never in my life have walked on the runway before – of course lar right, not like I have long skinny legs with a curvaceous body for modeling. BUT, I took the “opportunity” to walk it from the beginning till the end – after the event; after everyone had left the room and when only with the presence of the hotel crew clearing up. It was fun!

Check it out!

I stroke a pose at the end of the looooooooooooooooong runway.

G for Grace

By the time we were done, it was 7pm. It was a long day with a long runway...

It was also a tiring day but it didn’t end just there…….

I Shall...

It is 12.54am now.
I shall hit the shower and then the bed. My body is tired, my eyes are red and my legs are like jelly.
I shall babble about what happened soon.......

Gloomy, Cold and Wet Effect

It was gloomy yesterday. I was feelin' gloom.
It is a cold, rainy day today. I am feelin' tired and moody.

How about tomorrow? How would the weather be? How would I feel tomorrow?

PROBLEMs

Out of the blues, a friend of mine sent me this :

" The problem is not that there are problems. The problem is expecting otherwise and thinking that having problems is a problem."

- Theodore Rubin-

It Says It all

The photo depicts my feelings and emotions......
**I took this photo on the way to work this morning**

Gloomy

I wasn’t exactly in good shape today. I had mixed feelings in me. I don’t know if I was heading towards the right direction nor was I just doing it because it is my responsibility.
I don’t know if it would be the right timing to leave few months down the road? I don’t know if it was solely because of my negligence or my incapabilities? I seemed to be losing confidence – with myself. What should I do? I can’t seemed to find an answer.

Growing Older by Getting Younger

“Life isn’t measured in minutes, but in moments…”

The 81st Academy Awards will be held in the Kodak Theater tonight. Just in time for me to watch the movie which has the most (13) nominations last night – The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

I am sure most of you know about the plot. Basically, it all started with a clock being created by a blind clockmaker. After receiving news of his son's death in World War I, he continued work on his clock, but intentionally designed it to run backward, in the hope that it would bring back those who died in the war.

On November 11, 1918, just as the people of New Orleans are celebrating the end of World War I, a baby boy is born with the appearance and physical maladies of an elderly man. The mother of the baby dies shortly after giving birth, and the father, Thomas Button, takes the baby and abandons him on the porch of a nursing home.

Queenie, who is unable to conceive, decides to take the baby in as her own, against Tizzy's wishes. She names the baby Benjamin. She was one kind black lady!

One cute old man...

Over the course of the story, Benjamin begins to biologically grow younger…..

Here, we had a sneak preview of how Brad Pitt would look like when he is 70 or 80 years old. As the story progresses, Brad got younger and younger, more and more ‘man’. Ahh…..I was drooling watching him last night, and almost wet my top with saliva dripping. Hahhaa….just kidding.

I would say it is one of the great shows that I’ve watched so far. The story is unique and most importantly, the message they conveyed in the movie was meaningful. I almost broke down in tears too….It was just sooooo touching. What matter most in life is how someone cherishes it and live it to the fullest without any regrets.

I have to give thumbs up to both Brad and Cate for their acting!

There were a few quotes from that show that caught me….

1. “I was thinking how nothing last, and what a shame that is.” “Some things last.”
2. "Along the way you bump into people who make a dent on your life. Some people get struck by lightning. Some are born to sit by a river. Some have an ear for music. Some are artists. Some swim the English Channel. Some know buttons. Some know Shakespeare. Some are mothers. And some people can dance. "
3. "It's a funny thing about comin' home. Looks the same, smells the same, feels the same. You'll realize what's changed is you."
4. “You can be mad as a mad dog at the way things went; you can swear and curse the fates - but when it comes to the end, you have to let go.”
5. “You never know what is coming for you.”
6. “Our lives are defined by opportunities, even the ones we miss.”
7. “We're meant to lose the people we love. How else would we know how important they are to us?”

Well, I would recommend you to watch it if you haven’t.

I have to go now, thanks to this 2 hours and 40 minutes movie; I had only 3 hours of sleep. I am off to take a nap now!

Ciao!

A Relaxing Night Out

I met up with a friend for late dinner and drinks. I was really the “Diva” on Friday night as I was super late for the meet up session. I was supposed to meet him at 9pm, but I only left work around that time, and so I arrived at SOMO at 9.30pm. We ordered our dinner once I sat down as it was getting a lil’ late for dinner and of course, it was complemented with beer.

It was a nice and relaxing night. The cool breeze was blowing as it just rained. We enjoyed the great meal, the icy cool beer and chat.

Of course, in between I took a few snapshots of the place despite being there twice.

We ended the night at 12.30am. I was feeling a little tired after a long day at work. We left for home after paying the bill.

Winning a Man’s Heart Is…..

As the saying goes: “To win a man’s heart is through his stomach”. It simply means that in order to keep his heart, you must know how to cook good meals. It used to be true and I think it might apply still these days (depending on what sort of men you have there). Don’t forget, “A hungry man is an angry man!”

Pork Chop, anyone?

Fried chicken?

As I was blogging about my day in Tropicana City Mall today, I walked into this boutique. I find it quite interesting and unique as the decorations consist of cooking utensils, pots and pans.

I kind of like the concept.

Check this out and you will know what I mean. There have these cards on the counter.

Front of the card (each has diffrent design)

Each card has a different "Recipe" with real recipe.

"Recipe to Steal His Heart"

The name of the boutique is:

Cute right, the label is a shape of a mitten.....

I browsed around the articles in the store. The prices are reasonable and the fashion in there varies. Not too bad at all!!! They range from ladies’ T-shirts, working clothes, casual outfits, cocktail dresses to men’s tops and pants.

This caught my attention when I was walking around.

Creative, isn’t it?! Putting a tube top in a baking container.

Be a dish to your partner....?

I saw this dress. Very pretty! It was beige in colour. The design was very “Audrey Hepburn” and English looking. I loved it! But, after contemplating for a long time, I hung it back to the rack. Reasons being I think I am only able to wear it either to work or for semi-formal events.

Later, I saw a more casual outfit. I took the right size into the fitting room. Wahlah! It fitted me well and I can have more "options of fashion" with it. I can either pair it with jeans, a pair of black stockings, or even just wear it as a mini skirt!

See!

Feel so cheerful wearing it !!!!

It went into the bag

I’ve decided to add it as an extra item in my closet. I walked to the counter. Checked through it thoroughly and handed it over to the cashier. I asked him for the origins of this brand. He stated that it is a local brand.

Not bad, not bad!!!

Besides this outlet, they have branches in One Utama, Sunway Pyramid and The Mines Shopping Fair and Mahkota Parade Melaka.

Check it out if you haven’t!

A Lil' Adventure on A Saturday Afternoon

Another busy week has passed. I so looked forward to the weekend.

I managed to sleep through till noon. I guessed I was really tired over the hectic week. I hit into the shower to freshen up. While I was in there enjoying my Purifying hair wash session with lotus scent, I was thinking of where to go for lunch later.

*Ting*

A brilliant thought came up!!!

Tropicana City Mall. Names can be deceiving. No, it is not located at Tropicana or Bandar Utama. It is located in Damansara, the mall just next to Damansara Intan Business Center. I haven’t been there since it was opened couple of months back, so there was I this afternoon. I spent a few hours there; checking out the new place.

As I was walking up from the car park’s escalator, I laid my eyes on a few boutiques. “I shall check them out after lunch.” I told myself. Hence, I headed out to see what the options for restaurants to dine in were.

I walked passed this restaurant and saw a cozy corner. I entered Santini. It is a subsidiary of Tai Thong Group. The waiters there were very polite and the hospitality was not too bad. I opened the menu and I screened through it.

I ordered Set Lunch of the day and Bruschetta Con Funghi. Being a bread and mushrooms lover, how can I forego it? The waiter walked away after taking my orders and I continued to turn the pages of the menu. I was at the dessert page, screening through the varieties of desserts…and suddenly I spotted this!!!!

Pizza with Nutella?! Are you a NUT (case)?

I wonder how would it taste like?

The first thing which came to my table was my cup of coffee. The nice blended aroma of it came to my nose right away…..

Yummers!

While I kept myself occupied by snapping photos, my food was served. First was the Bruschetta Con Funghi. My main dish came approximately after 8 mins.

Nice environment

From the view of a cozy corner

Bruschetta Con Funghi

Tagliatelle Radicchio served with Dory Fish, Oilve Oil and a touch of chilli

FOOD. Such an indulgent for me. Satisfied and stuffed.

I lepakked there for awhile. I paid the bill and left.

I took a walk around the mall; started from the highest floor to the lowest as my car was in the basement. Not many retail outlets were opened.

*I shall blog about my pit stop at the boutique in my next entry. Watch out for it.*

So, I made my last stop at Carrefour. As I was walking out after checking out the hypermarket, there was this guy from HSBC bank “harassed” me. He walked up to me and said: “Miss, need an extra credit card? Here, sign up for HSBC card….It has free life time ....” While he was still going on and on about the promotion, I shut my ears and rejected him politely. He didn’t give up, he walked even faster to catch up with me. I got really annoyed. I couldn’t help it but to put my hand right at his face and said “NO, THANKS”. I increased the speed of my pace.

Finally, I made my way to the escalator. I saw on the ticket paying machine with a paper stuck on it stating “FREE PARKING”. Yay! No need to pay for parking. I walked towards the car and hit the key into the ignition.

I headed home and waited for my “night” to begin.

Look Hard

It is kind of faint, but if you look hard enough, you can see the rainbow.

It might be a rough time, but if you look hard for it, you can achieve what you wished for.

My Confidant

Wanna know who is my confidant besides Fookies Inc ?

Me and my buddy….Smiling together….

I Love You !!!!!

Park and Seek

I am sure it is a normal scene that we see in a shopping mall.
We tend to see people slip out their mobile phone with camera function to capture a snapshot of the parking bay. Yes, a snapshot of where they’ve parked their cars.

It can get pretty confusing for someone who is not familiar with the parking lot in a building or location (esp. when the mall has many entrances and levels). This person can get lost easily or cannot locate his/her car. This often happens in shopping malls. And, sad to say it mostly happens to women (sorry lar, had to sabo my own species. But it is true mah). Let me see, how about I give a ratio of women: 80% and men: 20%?

Women tend to go to shopping malls more frequent than men. Normally, we will go in a group of the same kind and will be busy yakking away from the car to the mall. It is in our genes that we tend to not notice or remember where we parked after having yum char sessions or meals; and the more this happens after a crazy shopping spree.

Another reason is also simply because we are “direction sense-less”. Majority of our sense of direction is a bit out. We tend to rely on men on this. =) Sad and embarrassing, but true.

For me, what I normally do is to punch in the parking lot number, which block, which level and what was the first store I see when I walked out from the parking into my mobile phone. Just in case, me being the "big-headed prawn" - where is my car, dude?!

How about you? What do you do or you have superb memory?

A Day Out After So Long……..

It has been quite some time (at least I felt so) that I have not been out to town for work.

I headed down town this afternoon for an appointment. I met up with Mamma Mia and Superwoman for lunch first. Superwoman brought us to a shack with zinc roof somewhere near BB area for famous and yummylicious siew yuk rice.

An old couple runs the siew yuk business. By the time we reached there, the rice was not cooked. So, we were enjoying the roasted pork while waiting. OMG, the meat was really well-roasted. The meat was tender, so juicy and succulent, whilst the skin was still very crispy.

We enjoyed our lunch very much. We also cherished our “time” with hearty chats before our appointment. As our meeting time was nearing, we then finished up our drink and paid the bill.

We had our discussion in Mandarin Oriental Hotel. It lasted for about an hour or so. Thereafter, we walked back to KLCC to get our cars. At the concourse area, we said our goodbyes and parted.

It was already 5pm when I left KLCC. Oh my, the traffic at Jalan Tun Razak started to pile up. It was bumper to bumper up to the Smart Tunnel. I turned into the tunnel and a sign of relieve there was in me! I took a pleasure drive home as I have never seen the sunset lately.

The clear roads

*Tak* the gate opened.

I drove up the driveway and parked my car. I was greeted by someone!

I smiled from ear to ear….

Check out who was it.

It was Gabby!!!!

Obligated Love

I have previously blogged about this topic in my other blog site; the blog site which I’ve deleted it off permanently as someone hacked into my account, somehow. Thank you, 88. I now have to start building it all over (since few months back).

Anyway, back to my topic.

Even though I am not an expert with ‘love’, but I just want to say a few points about it. My thoughts, at least.

Yes, I would say there are couples out there had misinterpreted the real meaning of ‘love’.

There are couples who have been dating for the umpteen years (they probably started very young – high school sweethearts, maybe?), and up till today they still remain as an item. I always wonder how they did it so successfully. How on earth did they keep the flame between them burning?

Here are several important elements that a couple should remind themselves with, in order to have a healthy relationship and also help to sustain one.

Firstly, communication is an important element in a relationship. The couple keeps the relationship going with having new topics to keep the conversation between them going. Endless chats and interesting conversation is definitely a big factor to keep it going strong. What is a relationship and how can it sustain when there is no communication? It will be just really weird to see a couple taking a drive in the same car with no talking or laughter throughout the whole journey or during a meal together, isn’t it?

Secondly is the couple doesn’t take each other for granted. As the saying goes, “familiarity breeds contempt”. In this case, once a couple is familiar and have adapted to each other’s character and style, some might just take the other for granted. Say for example, the guy will not accompany the girl for shopping, as compared to the initial stage of grabbing on tight to her hand and waist, walking in to each and every shop in the mall; from store front to outside of the changing room. Hmm.. I wonder at times if there are times that the guy would like to accompany her to the ladies as well, so that she won’t be out of his sight even for 2 minutes? Girls may probably nag at their partners when they wanted to catch a football match with buddies as compared to watching it together (killing two birds with one stone by spending quality time while watching the game)?

The third element is trust and open conversation. The presence of trust is very important in a relationship. What is the point to stay together and even start a family together when one party keeps on suspecting on the other? If there is nothing to hide, I don’t see the reason why someone should send text messages under the table or make phone calls in the toilet. Open conversation will only clear any misunderstandings from stirring up.

When a couple has been dating for a long time, somehow the love might have turned into obligated love. The love they share is no longer the sensual, tingling feeling but just the obligation to stay together. Being together just for the sake of being together. Their love have faded and slowly turning cold. There are some reasons why some couples would opt to stay with each other despite the depreciated love. One of them is because the couple has reached certain age and just got too lazy to start all over the courting “procedures” and go through the courtship period from scratch……Another would be because of the family factor. The parents like either the girl or vice versa...

There won’t be any outcome if a couple (or even just one party) has the “obligated” feeling. There will not be a future.

All the best to all couples! I pray that you are truly happy.

Cheers!

Waves in the Sea

Just as I thought I could forget about the past and put my 101% attention and energy into my work, my career; and just as I thought things would get better for me with my last night’s blog entry

….I was wronged.

I was as if sailing at the rough sea. Waves were hitting against my little wooden built sampan hard. One after another….

I was concentrating, staring at my laptop screen, a message popped up. A little bird informed me that someone made a comment about me. I don’t know whether it was a good or bad thing said. It was an open answer…. Thank you, kind soul, for telling me that.

***At times, I really wished I didn’t have to know it, or known as the ‘truth’. But life is just so kind. We have to embrace and brave through any, every happenings anyhow.***

Thousand and one question marks were circling on top of my head. I suddenly felt so demoralized and unmotivated; even though I don’t know what statement was made by the person.

But then, does it matter?!

Well, if I say “No, it doesn’t bother me.” I am telling an obvious lie. Yes, it did bother me earlier today. I was really curious about it and did (and still) a self check. “Someone said you have changed.” For what I know is, I didn’t change. I am still me, except for maybe I speak less in the workplace nowadays as I am bogged down with work. Other than that, I don’t think I have changed.

So please, enlighten me if I have changed.

Hey, whatever was done or said in the office was purely business. I might have done or said something not appropriate unconsciously, but then, my intention was only to get problems solved and get things moving. Am I wrong for doing that? OR maybe I've really changed slightly - changed in order to survive in this tough world.

Maybe one would think that the way I expressed or conveyed my message across with a wrong approach; or even the method I used to get things done was not right. But, ultimately, it’s only work. I do everything for there is a reason behind.

I have to put this aside. If the person has the balls of steel, please say it to my face, but not talking behind my back or creating rumors. People who know me, will know me for who I am and how I am like.

Anyhow, mouth is on one’s face, so let it be. I can’t control what people have to say or want to say. Freedom of speech, I suppose?
