The 80s Kids

I would like to share with you….my childhood memories.

Do you remember or can you recall what your childhood toys, movies or junk food were that you would go through no matter what kind of hardship; just to get them?

Well, as for me, I had a few. =)

Back in the 80s to 1990s, I used to have the items below as part of my childhood days. (Yeah, that shows how time flies…it was 2 decades ago….)

When I was young, I loved snacking and eating (and I still do). Junk food was my life! I could just sit in front of the idiot box and be a couch potato for hours. And this was I loooooooove to munch on….

Let me share my secret on how to savor on it…First, you eat the colorful sugar off the biscuit, then pop in the “belly button biscuit” (known in Cantonese)…

Next, Sugus and bubble gums were my fav too. I used to buy them off the stall outside of my school compound after school, while waiting for the school bus to arrive. My friends and I enjoyed them so much and we even competed who could blow a bigger bubble.
They had blackcurrant and orange flavour. Could buy 2 for 10 cents

This bubble gum is different as the wrappers have a “tattoo” which we thought it was “cool”. Just soak it in water and place it wherever you want. It is really funny to have such thought back then.

The cool tattoo wrappers

Going to school back then also involved a little trend. 20 years ago, we had this “in” hard casing pencil case for our stationeries. Not forgetting, I also had a few of these countries’ erasers. Collecting them was as if I’ve been to the country. Another famous thing that I used quite a bit was water colors! The little panda stuck on the packaging. Hahahha…Check it out!

Remember these?

I could remember that Bro Marky Mark and I glued our asses on the carpet watching Popeye, Tom & Jerry, He-Man, and some silly looking robots show on TV (I really can’t recall the name of it now). Those were the little kids’ great entertainment, man. All the mentioned were our “blockbusters” at that moment.

This was how mummy tricked me to eat my spinach

Bro Marky Mark used to shoot me….with this! I think there was once that I kena shot at the forehead and “the-10-cent-size- spot” was red because of the rubber on the so-called dart looking bullet! Of course, I was crying and went to mummy for comfort…hahaha….how manja, right?

During our break time in school, we played with this! I also can’t remember what is it called or how to fold it. Another fun thing back then was being a “super junior fashion designer”.

This was before I had my Barbie dolls

So, are you in the same era as me and what sort of fun did you have during your childhood?
