Expect the Unexpected

Ahhh….I just got back from dinner. A very yummy-licious filling dinner.

I would say this week was rather a mundane long week. It’s finally Friday but I only have 80% of happy mood in me somehow……

I was just blogging about how “Life is like a box of chocolates, you’ll never know what you are gonna get”…..Life is just full of surprises? Well, yea…something caught me off guard this afternoon….I was really shocked.

It was a slow afternoon at work today. I had meetings and teleconference in the morning and afternoon. Just before I went in for the teleconference about Demand Review (demand and supply of stocks), I went down to look for Mamma Mia. I needed to pass her some documents. MG and Dino were downstairs too.

While we were chatting downstairs, we saw a van stopped right in front of the office. It was a Blooming Florist van. Then, we saw the Malay delivery man carried a medium sized yellow box. The packaging was pretty.

It was a very spontaneous thing that I uttered: “Someone is receiving a gift soon….”
Dino added: “Who is the lucky one?”
Me: “Must be someone’s birthday or a special day celebration.”
MG: “Yalor, it’s not my birthday or my wedding anniversary…”
Dino: “Lagi not mine lar…”
Me: “Lagi lagi impossible that it’s mine!”

All of us laughed as the three of us thought that the gift wasn’t meant for any of us.

As I just uttered those words, the delivery man walked towards us and asked: “Siapa Grace Lim?”

The 3 of us were stoned for a moment. I answered and received the gift and signed on the Delivery Order.

I looked at the yellow box with full of question marks floating above my head.

??????????????????????????????????????

Who will it be, I thought to myself? I didn’t meet anyone lately…. Who is the sweet person who sent this to me?

But, there was an ear-to-ear smile plastered on my face.

There was a card stuck to the box. I took a peep at it.

Wow, this person who sent me this gift is really a very observant and detailed person. Very sensitive too! It was from my old school mate……someone whom I didn’t keep in contact until recently. *Pai seh, pai seh*

I didn’t open the box when I went back to my desk.

I finally opened it when I reached home. It was too pretty to be destroyed!

I opened it very carefully and slowly. Wow….it was a very well presented box of chocolates. The box has 2 tiers! Unique!

I kept the chocolates in the fridge and took the box. Will let my taste buds do the talking about the chocolates….and that will be soon!

Thank you very much, friend, for sending me a box of chocolates to light up and sweeten my day.

Life is as if a box of chocolates, indeed!

Cheers!

Oh oh…..I got to go now….going out to catch a movie!

Ta!
