A Walk at PM Boutique

OMG!!!
It had been such a long time since I last visited it.

After for a very long long long time, I visited our country’s very best PM Boutique.

PM Boutique = Pasar Malam = Night Market

Yes, it was great to take a walk at the night market in SS2. There, they had so many stalls – from vegetables, fish, food to household items to shoes; accessories to clothes……

One of the stalls that was swamped by people was the one selling CROCS.

Wow, I didn’t know that Crocs actually had so many ‘other designs’. They are priced at around RM 35 per pair, depending on the design. Check it out!

From China?

We had dinner at SS2Gluttony Street, after our walk at PM Boutique. I had my favourite “Lok Lok”. Yummy yum yum....I enjoyed it very much. Ah……I am so full now!

Dark, Cold Day

It was a wet morning that day. I went to office slightly earlier as I had an event to attend in the afternoon. So, not much work would be able to be completed that day.

While warming up my car

The roads were wet and brrr….it was cold when the office’s central air conditioners were turned on. Felt like an igloo.

So, when I left the event venue, it was already almost 7.30pm. The sky was dark again…seemed like it was going to pour again…traffic was rather bad but thank goodness it was not too bad once I hit the NPE. The turning to Kuchai Lama was jammed up, but thank god I wasn’t going that way. I bypassed it. I took about 10 minutes to reach Sunway Pyramid for my night out with friends….

The turn off point to Kuchai Lama

Dark dark sky...

A simple night out is what I love most!

A Slight Confusion for a Moment.....

………Yup, that was what happened to me for a few secs. I was confused.

Was it a florist or a fashion house? SUB?

Duh, it came to my senses that it was their new opening!

The Power Look Event

I was at Pavilion KL on Friday afternoon. I was there to make sure that everything went on smoothly from my end.

It was the 2nd day of the SKII Power Look event. It was launch of their new range – Signature range. It is the latest anti aging range with their patented ingredient, Pitera, in it. The concourse was elegantly set up – the huge back drop, make over section (when consumers purchase RM800 of products, they get one session free) and the red carpet all the way up the stairs.

Anyway, while waiting for all of them to get their hair done we went down to the concourse area to lepak. We had coffee and then I went for a free skin consultation. I held back at first because I didn’t want to know the ‘ugly truth’ about my skin. But I was really bored, I had nothing to do but to wait for time.

Confiding to her...

"Use this Miracle Water..."

Hmm…so, this experienced beauty consultant did some background check with my skin and the products used. She needed to understand me better before recommending the suitable SKII products.

I told her the necessary information. Wow, it was an opener for me that afternoon. I’ve never understood some much about skin and how to keep them moisture, supple and radiance. There was one term that she used while explaining the skin structure to me: Horny layer.

Hhmmm…….

Towards the end of the consultation, she used the latest SKII technology / device; known as Scanphone. It is actually a phone, but somehow created to scan the skin – identifying the level of the aging skin.

Sebastian Professional’s
products were used on the models’ hair. La Mode Coiffure collaborated with us to style 8 twiggies’ hair. Oh my, those models were really like western chopsticks.

Chopsticks!!!

The red one is the Signature range

We waited till 6pm and the fashion show still hasn’t started. I met some of my business associates and media partners. We caught up a little. The show had finally started at about 620pm. There was a demo done on a model with the new Signature series by the celebrity make up artist – Kres Kuang.

Finally, 645pm, the fashion show started. Here are some photos of the event!

Ooohh…I better get going now, going for District 9!

Ciao!

Ultraman vs Predator

It was a BIG night. It all started with….

……a wonderful dinner at Zen - me and my usual makan kakis (and a new addition to the group, Popeye). Mamma Mia did the ordering and all of them were yummy, except for 1 dish that we wanted to try out. It was the eel with egg and some sweet gravy. The beef slices were perfectly done – medium rare. (Thank you, Popeye, for dinner.)

We chatted till about 9ish and made a move for the BIG night; the BIG game.

We settled ourselves at a café with flat screen TVs.

There were 2 games tonight. The first one was Liverpool vs Bolton; and the second was the game between the giants – MU vs Arsenal.

Well, me who is someone who never liked football – thinking that it is a game of wasting time and energy for 20 men to run from one end to the other, getting kicked in the legs, falling down and scratching their legs on those grass….for what?! Over 1 ball. ONE ball!

But, I kinda have a slightly different perception towards this now. I can’t believe (and still am amazed) that I actually sat through both games and I enjoyed it. Well, it is not easy to be a great football player; to “snatch” the ball and defending it from rolling or flying in between the goal post and the goal keeper.

Honestly, (and I am not siding any club here, I am a football “illiterate” here; a “Football for Idiot Fans” would do me good), after watching both matches, MU plays rather more “excitingly” as compared to Liverpool. Maybe it was because of MU was playing against the other giant – Arsenal.

Well, in between the games, Mrs G (previously known as Dino in my blog entries), Arrow and Popeye educated me on football and the respective teams that they support. Mrs G was so happy when Giggs was in playing game till last 6 minutes. She was practically drooling….(I wonder how do they know who is who in the field running up and down? Those men there are just too small on screen, like little red ants) So, somewhere in our conversation, Popeye made a comment that MU’s new jersey is the red one with a black “V” line in front. I looked at him; feeling blur as I couldn’t imagine how does it look it. He explained using Ultraman – the design on his chest (Indirectly teasing Mrs G and Arrow that MU is “autaman” – meaning not the greatest team because he is a Liverpool fan). Hahaa….that was funny!

Mrs G was very kind to introduce me to few “core” players in MU. Being a die hard MU fan, she and Arrow know most of the background and information of the players and matches. Nevertheless, she highlighted Sagna from Arsenal to me also as the team is their big time opponent. He is one black guy with blonde plaits. Well, to me, the first thing that came to mind was “Predator”.

So, now you know how Ultraman vs Predator came about?

We sat till 2am. What a waste that the café was closing. The score was 2-1. So we managed to only watch till a remaining of 4 minutes injury time. Later, when we were on the way home, Mrs G sent me a text saying MU won. The winning score was still 2-1.

So, Ultraman did win the battle at the end. Ultraman always do. Hahaha….Even a Predator couldn’t win the battle with Ultraman. (FYI, Arsenal won 1 point in the beginning)

It was an educational night for me. =) At least I now know what does “Injury Time” means. And Ecuador broke his ankle – and it was really serious. The bone was sticking out! OOohhhh….how painful was that?!

I guess sometimes one wouldn’t know how fun something could be in life if the person has never experienced it with a great, right group of people. So, don’t be so narrow minded sometimes!

Friendship Grows...

I just got home about 30 minutes ago.

I made it a point to meet up with Carebear again before she leaves for Singapore.

I hopped into her car after parking my car at her porch. I bought her dinner at Oriental Cravings. We chatted; not much of laughter, but it was ok. I tried to keep a happy cheery mood in both of us…..

We left and went back to her house. Both of her kids were at home. They are just so cute. I sat at the kitchen, watched Carebear with her kids while sipping on a glass of water. She is really one great mother – taking good care of her children.

It is really obvious that she will miss dearly both of them. She will miss them calling “Mummy, mummy…” with their little voices. Deep down inside her, she is really sad and feeling down to leave her children behind for work. Her teary eyes make me sad. It is not easy to leave home and a family behind...for some time...when those people are so attached to one. I understand the feeling of being parted with your loved ones (because I've experienced it before). Time passes extremely slow, every month; day; hour; minute; second. No appetite to eat and moody.

But,

Look at the bright side, it’s not the end yet….she will still come back on certain weekends to see her family. And, her family will visit her during school holidays too! That same applies to me!

Come to think of it, it is really ironic how things turn out to be. I worked in my company for almost 4 years now. In my first year, I wasn't close to Carebear. I knew her presence so did she (We are both in different departments and different floors)…until one day we had a conversation and wah lah, we clicked. We could just talk and started hanging out together whenever she can (when her kids are at tuition centre or her mum in law’s house). We got close. She takes me as her younger sister. Our friendship just grew deeper and stronger...

We went on trips together on weekends…once in a blue moon. We had the freedom and fun, just lazing around, doing nothing….But, it was great!

I will be sending her to the airport this Sunday! It will be the last time I see her until….few months down the road………
I will miss her dearly.

Happy 1 Year Anniversary!

I couldn’t sleep.

So, I took a look at the calendar, it is 26th Aug today (already passed 12am).

It was a year and 5 days ago, that I had a new addition to the family. I found someone that I fell in love with….. and I wanted to take care of ......

Gabby!

In the past 1 year, she has brought me (and my family) endless joy and laughter. The time we spent together; the fun and cheeky times, through thick and thin, attending training together and visits to the vet. The walks in the evenings and the hugs we exchange; the little tricks I play on her. Every little bit of her just plaster a smile on my face.

She will always be there; rain or shine. She is my (our) protector.

I am grateful to have her. I am happy to see her grow each day.

She will always be the gem in my heart!

Windy Sunset; Great Dinner and Cutie Pie "Tilly"

It was 6.15pm. I’ve decided to turn off my lappie and was wanted to leave office earlier. I had a date with Carebear.

To my utter surprise, everyone has left the office; except for 2 more cars – one was mine and another colleague’s. So, I walked back to the office, unlocked the glass door and intercom-ed her. (We are from different department, different floor)

While I was waiting for her to pack up, I stood outside of the office. I was enjoying the breezy sunny weather; the strong wind blowing my face and messing up my hair, and looking at the trees bending to its mercy.

I was admiring the moment.

The both of us walked to our cars and said goodbye.

Along the way, the sun was setting….. (Yes, I witnessed sunrise and sunset today. This rarely happen on me)

I drove to Carebear’s house and we zoomed off to SS2 for dinner. We had great conversation and laughter. Later, Dino and Angel joined us. The conversation and jokes kept the night going; time flies without us knowing.

I also got to meet a new friend. Let me introduce you to Tiger Lily (She is Angel's new pet).

She is just so adorable, isn’t she?

2 months old

By the time I left Carebear’s house after dropping her off, it was close to 10pm. It was time to go home……..

Another day has passed.

What a Lovely Day

What a Lovely Day it is! Bright and sunny; after a cool wet day. I just love sunny day......makes me feel all cheery and happy.

Lalalalalala....

Ok, back to work now!

Ciao!

See d Food (Seafood)

It was last week that we went to Pantai Seafood for dinner. Not too many of us, just right for a round table.

We ordered a few ‘ho liao’ dishes that night. Allow me to let the photos do the ‘talking’. (Not all are posted up here)

Needless to say more…..

" Snails" or escargot....

Noodles in Hong Kong style

Baked lobster

Man Tao

Pork in brown sauce
Before we left the place, we had a family photo taken.

1.00 am - 0_0

Wow, I didn’t realize it was almost 1am till I off my laptop. I was working; working to reduce the stress for Monday and also the guilt in me.

I am wide awake, my eyes are wide open. I am not sleepy, at all. Tomorrow is a working day!

Perhaps I should turn a few pages of Xandria’s book to tire my eyes.

Good night, everyone!

The Mood

I just got back not too long ago.

I woke up feeling a little awful. (I don’t think I woke up on the wrong side of the bed) I woke up from a dream that impacted my mood for the day. I was feeling rather moody.

The dream seemed so real that I could even remember it after I woke up. I dreamt that I went on a holiday somewhere and somehow I was robbed at the villa where I stayed. There were a few bad guys who threatened me for my money and life. I ran and tried to hide from the bad ones. In the dream, my bodyguard was there. He was another person’s bodyguard in my virtual world (my dream). My bodyguard resigned from protecting me for a year but somehow he appeared. He helped me. I was still relying on him and seemed like I was still hoping to get a bodyguard like him. I was comparing him with other candidates. People deserve a chance to prove themselves.

Why?

I know it is unfair to compare; as the Chinese saying goes: 人比人,比死人。

My mind is clouded with less positive thoughts today, I have to admit. I wasn’t my jovial self. After tea and dinner with my buddies, I took a long route home. I needed some time to myself; some space alone to think; to clear my mind.

Mama asked me if I was better when I got home. She was concerned about me. She knew something was wrong with me when I stepped out of the house.

The sun has set, the night has come; moon is out. Today has ended and tomorrow will be here.

It will be a brighter tomorrow!

Words

The selection of words is important because words act like a sword. It hits straight to someone and create an ‘impact’. Being sensitive to the usage of the right words is an art or skill that is not so easy to master.

Words can sweep someone off their feet yet also hurt and cause scars in the heart.
Words can bring someone up and also be a destroyer (career wise). It is also a rather powerful tool to convey the message across; loud and clear. One wrong or unsuitable word can cause confusion or misunderstanding.

Try using positive words than not-so good words when conveying message. It would at least sound better even though it is a tell off. With this, it is also a form of LOA.

Do you agree with me?

Hold The Fort

“Hold the fort, Grace!”

“Yes, I will try my very best!”

That was what my mentor said before she left for appointments; and that was my reply to her.

It was the second time in my working years that I encountered this line. The first time was a few years back and my manager went for a business trip. When she came back, she actually sent me an email, thanking me for ‘holding the fort’ while she was gone. I didn’t expect that.

Right, you see what happened was yesterday we were in a midst of ‘negotiation’. We requested and amended a few marketing promotions and we were questioned a thousand times before HQ aligned with it. My mail box practically had 50 emails just in one day (yesterday). Finally at the end of the day, all was settled. *phew*

Other than this, unnecessary pressure was being put on us. I felt it wasn’t fair to say so and hence I replied with our thoughts; my thoughts. I had to stand firm and convey the message over to make some sense into their heads.

By the end of the day, I felt exhausted – mentally.

I really respect those leaders who can hold the fort – regardless whether it’s for the country, a giant MNC, business or even at home!

She's Leaving on a Jet Plane...

I didn’t quite feel it until this evening……when she hugged me. Tears almost came rolling down my cheeks.

……..a close colleague of mine is leaving the Malaysian office to work at our HQ in Singapore. Her department is shifting to Singapore. She will be flying off end of this month.

Sigh.

Even though I know her (we got close) for only about 2 years, we bonded very well. Our friendship is genuine. She cares for me just like a big sister, guardian angel, watching over me. She was there with me when I had my ups and downs. She is my carebear!

I remember the crazy trips together. I cherish all of the advises she shared with me. I enjoyed all of the yacking time we had.

I know I will definitely miss her, dearly. No one to look me up for lunch (at times), no one to have chats after work…..no one to just lepak and yack away on weekend nights…

Anyhow, she leaves for a better future. I am happy that she has a brighter prospect in Singapore. I will definitely visit her when she has settled down.

All the best to you, Carebear, from the bottom of my heart!

Risky Risk

There is always be risk involved in anything that we do, anywhere that we go; every decision that we make.

While we are driving on the road, we decide which route and turn to take, one will never be sure whether there would be traffic or if we would reach our destination safely.
At work, we make the best decisions that we thought to be to solve the hiccup. But, with that decision, is it really the ideal move? When we turn the papers for a job, how sure are we that IT IS a greener pasture? How much better will it be as compared to our current? Will we be really ok and satisfied with the daily job tasks and pressure? We don't know.

We take risks, everyday.

Being in a relationship or a marriage has risks as well. One would never know if his or her partner is the right one. One wouldn’t know if they are really compatible. Will the trust with someone remain? Will the happiness last forever and ever?

Every risk taken might have a lucrative return or not; it is just a matter of whether one can accept it.

Are you willing to take the risks and be contented with the returns and consequences?

Better Safe Than Sorry (in a way)

I regretted.

I had the guilt in me.

I regretted for not looking at my work over the weekend. I was lazy (I admit) and all I wanted to do was to laze around, sleep, relax and have fun.

But…

I was faced with challenges today till quite late. I had the feeling of suffocation and felt that it was a little too much for me to handle. I guess I better just look at my laptop over the weekend a little to ease off the guilt and burden off me on a weekday.

Protection Suit

We were chatting and somehow went into the topic of working out in the gym….

…….and we started discussion. A discussion on me working out.

Well, I have been doing Body Pump recently. I have problem doing squats. My upper back is painful when I rest the bar with weights on it. So, my friends explored a few ways to help me ‘block’ the pain.

A few suggestions were given. Towel. Wear a collared T-shirt. The best one is:

THIS!!

And, the extra padded suit on the upper back part can protect the weights and bar from hurting my upper back, this can help me to sweat even more = lose more weight! This protection suit will also protect me from any other injuries?

Not bad eh? Maybe I should attach those shoulder pads to my t-shirt or something?! What say you?

Will you sit there?

Isn’t it a bit dangerous to have the cashier in the middle of the station?

Is the cashier safe sitting in there during wee hours and late night?

Hhmmmm…

Not a very bright idea, isn’t it?

The Final Day at the East

Oooppsssss….I just realized that I haven’t completed the last day of my trip to the East.

Well, we had in-house breakfast that morning. After a scrumptious breakfast, all of us packed up and checked out. It was an enjoyable trip overall – filled with great selection of food, fun to be with company and full of laughter.

So, we hit the road around 12noon. I missed a turn and had to make a turn back to the right route. The highway back to KL was quite smooth. Not many cars on a Sunday afternoon. I enjoyed the drive, in fact.

On the way back, we made a pit stop at the foot hill of Genting. We stopped at somewhere near Selesa Homes for a late lunch. We saw a few super bikes parked at the main entrance and bikers dining there. Ahh…..those were nice looking bikes!

(I don't know anything about bikes, but I know they are just too good looking!!)

We walked in. Wow, those bikers were actually well equipped with bikers’ gear and suits. Damn yau ying!

The food was good. There had many different kind of varieties. The price was expected. We didn’t really get slaughtered partly we have already got mentally prepared to see the bill, and also because we ordered some good stuff to give our palettes a treat.
