Rise or Set?

This photo is taken during sunrise or sunset?

Take a guess.....it's not difficult.

My "To-Go" Project

I have a little project of my own going on at home.

My mission was to clear off some of the super old stuff and items that I do not need anymore (and also the non-memorable items). I need my space!

So, anyway, I’ve rearranged all the bags that I have – ranging from handbags to non woven recycle sling bags – all arranged in the storage cabinet. Some of them which are still in good condition but I don’t want anymore, I asked Mama to give them away. Some of the spoilt ones are going to the rubbish collector soon.

Besides this, some of the soft toys were just taking up too much space. So, one by one, I scanned through. After scrutinizing them thoroughly, here are what to be given away. I inherited these soft toys from someone; they are not even mine. =) So, I will just give them to those kids out there who are wanting toys for the longest time and appreciate them.

But, before I give them all away in a box, I took a snap shot just for remembrance as I have kept them for many years. They are cute, actually! (But sometimes, some things just need to go)

The couples

Koalas, sheepie and bunnie

Patrick - look alike?
The below was given to me when I was very young by my God Ma. A badger who followed me for many years. It is time to go too…..

Don't worry, you guys will be well taken care of!

A WHATEVER Day It is Called….

Guess what, I am still in the office.

It had been a rather rough day at work today.

The start of the day wasn’t too pleasant. Later in the morning, I had to go out to visit a customer because they wanted our opinion on the display of products and posters at their newly renovated outlet.

The appointment was so so. One thing that kind of ticked me off was the word “WHATEVER” was used; never in front of outsiders. It is as if internally ourselves are having disagreement. It just didn't look nice in front of people, especially our clients. Honestly, I find this word rather impolite. It is as if someone doesn’t care or appreciate about a reason or justification given. Not even listening to it before completely ignoring someone. I personally do not use it unless I am in a heated argument with someone and I careless on the person's feelings.

Anyway, I came back after having an early lunch. There were work waiting for me to clear. In the afternoon, I received good news which caused us to save some budget. Yippie!

My sales manager bumped into me at the reception area in the evening and told me not to be so stressed up or else my patch of green on my head will soon turned to silver/ white. Eh, not bad hor, then I can become Rogue from X-Men….hahhahaha….

Around 7pm, I received an email from my mentor; askeing about some stuff. We kind of had a "conversation" via emails, sending back and forth. At 7.30pm, she told me to pack up and go home. This is not the first time she asked me to do so.

I will be leaving soon…

I hope you had a great smooth sailing day today!

Chao!

Trouble is a Friend...

Life is not a smooth sailing sea or a bed of roses;
There will be challenges and they come with purposes...
...to make us stronger and wiser.
So, never give up! Perseverance conquers!

Can Not

I could still remember once upon a time ago, my ex-boss who is an Aussie, was amazed that we, Malaysians, use this word "cannot". He used to giggle when we answered him with a "cannot" when something is not possible to be done. He just wasn't used to that word.

Well, today, I also want to tell myself : Cannot be lay zee....

*Am I living in denial since I didn't even spell the word correctly :lazy?*

The Awakening

I didn’t sleep quite
well last night. I felt as if I have slept for a long time, but time passed so slow when I woke up in the middle of the night (to check the time).

I dreamt and the same person was in my dream for 2 consecutive nights. I wonder why….

*********************************

I was stopped by the security guard this morning while I was driving through. I suddenly ‘woken up’ by the stop. He asked me to wind down the window and passed me a box.

I took it and looked…it was from Genting Group.

Wow….so thoughtful of them. Yup, the actual moon cake festival celebration day is this coming Saturday!

I wonder if there is RM100 note in it; just like the legend of moon cake (except for not a note but a dollar note!)

What a quick Weekend

Saturday and Sunday just went by so damn fast.

Saturday
I did my usual Saturday ritual. I was at home in the afternoon, lazing away and had a nap till before dinner time. Woke up and drove to my friend’s house for dinner. Oh my gosh, the weather was so hot, the sun was burning. So, clad in singlet and shorts, I was pigging out!

Later at night after dinner, we went to watch footie - Stoke City vs Man U. I watched for an hour and the result was still 0-0. I left as I needed to meet up with Carebear. Yup, she was back this weekend. I picked her up and off we went to our usual spot for drinks. Yack, yack, and yack till 1.30am, we made a move home.

Sunday
The day before Monday was here. Sigh. So fast. Went for mass in the morning with my family. Thereafter, we went to Klang for Bak Kut Teh. Hmm….yummy yum yum. Rain was pouring heavily whilst we were having the hot soup and pork…ahh…..

After lunch, I dropped by my customer’s place to pick up something. Thereafter, I went to Ikea to look-see. I needed to get some small furniture for my room. I spotted a very simple yet elegant chest of drawers. Price was reasonable. I will be getting it next weekend! Hahaha….

After a simple dinner (yup, all of us were still stuffed from lunch), I caught up with my DVDs…….

11.45pm, lights out! I was sleepy and just wanted to go to La La Land..

It's Greener Now

(It’s camwhoring time)

After a week, this is how it looks like.

The green is turning greener and obvious….

Money is growing…on my head!

Hahahaha….

(Sorry, it’s just the Friday blues)

To be Stress Free...

Second Chance

“Do cheaters deserve a second chance?” That was the discussion topic on radio this morning.

There were a few listeners expressed their experiences and also gave their two cents worth. Some said cheaters /everyone deserves a second chance; while some said no, we shouldn’t give them another chance to cheat.

Well, to me, depending on the scenario. Of course, it also depends on the cheater’s past records and how remorseful the person was after the wrong did. If the person is really sorry for the mistake, he or she will just have to work for the second chance. If it is really a serious, hurtful one; and with bad track record, I will not allow a second chance.

Simple rationale:
1. Why would I want to be hurt for the second time? This is man-made torment.
2. Why would I want to always looking over my shoulder to ensure there are no more lies? (Mental torture is the worst!)
3. Why would I want to constantly hear the little voice in me, reminding of the past lies?
4. Why would I want an apple which already starts to have a worm in it?
One thing I know is: "A leopard will never lose its spots"
If someone was cheated before, there will always be precautions. This person has learnt to be smarter. This is what its called Experience.

Experienced it, learn from it.

Selling yourself....

I was chatting with a friend the other day and she said this to me: During interviews, it is not only you who are the one selling yourself to the company but the person from the company is also doing ‘sales’ to you to buy.

What was said made sense. Normally when we go for interviews, we will ‘sell’ ourselves – hard sell. We will work very hard to win the interviewer’s heart with our qualifications, experiences and the way we convey our capabilities. The usual lines that we hear go like these:- I m a fast learner or I have hit RMxxxx’000 sales in my previous job…..and so on…

Simply just to get the job and demand for a better salary.

On the other hand, if one is sitting in the employer’s chair, even though the person will put on a straight face and start ‘interrogating’ the interviewee, but there are always possibilities that he or she will be selling the good points of the company; just to get you interested with the job….

It is a 2 way thingy. What say you? At the end of the day, there are some people who really 'sold' themselves to the company.

As it goes by....

As the minutes pass….the sky turns darker….

As time goes by….you will notice how wonderful this world is…and it is not worth holding on to any grudges….

Chubby Little Furballs....

It was a tough decision. We were indecisive.

It was over the holiday weekend that we were contemplating to watch either G Force or A Perfect Getaway. Well, of course we know G Force is the movie with 3 ‘super Fed Agents who are guinea pigs and a mole’ and also a movie with similar set up of transformers towards the end; whilst A Perfect Getaway (don’t be fooled by the title) is the thriller movie with super hot actress – Milla Jovovich.

We drew lots and so it made the decision for us to watch G Force!

It has been a long time since I last watched a 3D movie or animation. It was one heck of a great experience. Okay, the specs were a little too big for my face, but no qualms. I just had to simply hold it as if I was holding on to a masquerade mask.

G Force is one entertaining movie. Hilarious! I was laughing non stop throughout the entire movie. I also started to miss my guinea pigs….Mickey and Cola were the first pair that I had about 15 years ago!

Left: Mickey ; Right: Cola
Even though I don’t rear any guinea pigs now, but I surely have one great substitute to hug at night!

Let me show it to you from every angle…

It's just so cute and chubby!

Time flies….so fast…

…4 days of the Raya holiday break is over. It was a great weekend as it was filled with activities with a group of great people. Unfortunately, the great joy had to come to an end…until another weekend approaches.

Back to work tomorrow and I can already feel it….the stress and god knows how many and what sort of emails are waiting to be read in my mailbox. I managed to clear my mailbox (past weeks' emails) today a little or else it will be full tomorrow.

I suppose there is nothing much to look forward to except for the weekends…..

Sleepless on a Holiday

Oookay……I couldn't sleep.

I couldn’t sleep till 4 plus this morning. I forced myself to sleep. And guess what, I was up at 8.45am. Couldn’t continue sleeping anymore….

And I HATE IT when it is a holiday where I know I can wake up late!

There were just too many things running through my mind for the past few days. I have been feeling a little disturbed and frustrated.

These challenges will soon be over, it will be!

Remember the September

Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh so mellow
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain so yellow
Try to remember the kind of September
When you were a young and a callow fellow
Try to remember and if you remember
Then follow--follow, oh-oh

Try to remember when life was so tender
That no one wept except the willow
Try to remember when life was so tender
That dreams were kept beside your pillow
Try to remember when life was so tender
That love was an ember about to billow
Try to remember and if you remember
Then follow--follow, oh-oh

Deep in December it's nice to remember
Although you know the snow will follow
Deep in December it's nice to remember
Without a hurt, the heart is hollow
Deep in December it's nice to remember
The fire of September that made you mellow
Deep in December our hearts should remember
Then follow--follow, oh-oh

That's the Way it Is...

We have many likes and dislikes. It all depends on the individual if he or she can accept it or compromise those dislikes on others and till what extend…

That’s life.

Not Necessary....

What comes to mind or represents (in most cases) if caps and football were mentioned?

Men.

Well, I am turning into a man…..hahahaa…….

JUST KIDDING.

I just simply enjoy beer and football matches. I find both are an awesome combination! 2 nights in a row, I have been sipping on alcohol from the bottles, (visiting the toilet frequently) and shouting with my screechy voice – GOAL! and clapping my hands. (FYI, MU won 4-3 to Man City tonight, at the very last minute!!!! Yay!)

Life is such a bliss when there is a group of great friends to do all these together-gether too!

Cheers.

First time tasting Tuborg. The taste is lighter than my usual Carlsberg.

Just me in cap....

2.30am - A zombie to be...

Help!!! I can't sleep. I know I will be dreading my feet to the gym in less than 7 hours if I don't sleep now. But I can't sleep.....HOW? I've sprayed the Pillow Mist...I guess I just have to inhale more of it and find my way to la la land.....

Petroleum...I Like...

I was feeling rather 'lazy' in the office today.

Yes, I do have work to complete, but the office was pretty quiet today. A few head of departments had gone to Singapore for meeting and left with us here….The cold weather just made it worse….lazy and super freezing…

Anyway, I got my hair colored today. I “personalized” (wanted to make it a little mysterious - can see, cannot see) my hairstyle to my style (after blogging about Personalised Trends recently; and I have previously done this kind of highlights before with other colors). Hahahaha……I had a healthy brown tone base with petroleum color highlights – just one patch on my right. (Petroleum is bluish green – a shade in the newly launched range and I am just really gian about it. I wanted to have the color on my hair when it just arrived in our warehouse 2 months back, but I was super packed with work and didn’t have the time to dye it)

Anyway, I got it done today! Finally! Yay! So happy!

Quite subtle? Can't see?

Let me help you to see better...

Can see?
*Big grin*

Trendy Hair with 4 Trends....

(Another event that I was busy with recently...)

Welcome to a world that is ever-evolving, where a trend from the past transmutes into a trend of the future and past barriers are broken down as new trends explode onto the scene.

Trend Vision 09 is a forecast of hottest forward-thinking hair looks and the work of the Wella Professionals styling team. Collaborating with global trend scouts and agencies like Carlin, Wella Professionals brings the latest inspirational contemporary cultural shifts to life, capturing the essence in a haute couture hair trend collection.

Carlin International’s heritage is in spotting trends and expertly decoding them. The perfect partner for Wella, Carlin has the skill, the knack, the talent in picking up on, pondering and processing the trends that are influencing the upcoming attitudes and aesthetics.

Not only does Carlin have an eye for the future, it also has its ears to the ground. Based in Paris, Carlin operates a global network in 26 countries, ensuring that its global-watching is all encompassing.

Sharing this invaluable knowledge with a group of international hairstylists, Wella Professionals IDs pivotal trends and the hairstylists transform them into inspired hair messages. The four key trends decided upon by Wella Professionals for 2009 are UTOPIA, INTERSEXION, DE LUSH and VIRTUAL LIFE.

Based on the four key trends, Wella Professionals offered the artistic hairstylists a platform to showcase not only their vision in interpreting the trends but also translating it to live form through Wella Trend Vision Award 2009. With this award, hairstylists were given the opportunity to sharpen their skills and have their ideas made visible and tangible.
This year’s Trend Vision Award in Malaysia saw over 300 photo entries and 12 finalists were selected by a panel of five judges which are made up of renowned personalities from hairdressing, fashion, makeup and media.

The entries were judged based on:
Total look and interpretation - 30%
Technical expression - 60%
Overall and mood board presentation - 10%

Wella Malaysia’s studio, where the finals took place was a buzz with activities in the morning as the 12 finalists were seen busy preparing their models. The finalists had to translate the interpretation of their visions of the selected trends they participated in.

You draw, I blow...

I am relaxed....*whistle*

Ooooo...judging time...

"Let's stress them up.."

I was asked to test the lighting by the cameraman

It was a coincidence that we both wore blue =P

The event was also graced by Wella Professionals’ New Face - Xandria Ooi.

Towards the afternoon, an air of excitement could be felt as the finalists were seen busy putting in the finishing touches on their models.

The afternoon started with Wella Trend Vision Award 08 Grand Winner, May Chua’s interpretation of Wella Trend Vision 2009 trends.
This was followed by a stunning presentation of models by Wella Trend Vision 2009 finalists. It was an amazing sight to view the diverse collections and artistic interpretations of the hottest fashion trends, Utopia, Intersexion, De Lush and Virtual Life by Malaysia’s creative talents in the hairdressing industry.

WELLA TREND VISION 2009 4 KEY TRENDS:

Intersexion pushes the limits of seduction. It challenges social stereotypes and hints at a new era in the understanding of sexuality. In this ‘new-age glam’, masculine and feminine worlds collide – not to produce androgyny but new, unpredictable permutations. Expression comes in monochrome blacks, and a spectrum of greys. Hair is all about combining styles - straight and frizzy, round and square. Make-up provides powder-matt complexions, with muted tones and distinctive brows.

Virtual Life is where the line between reality and fantasy blurs, and we become free to create our own reality. The interactive generation is impatient, creative, and in power.
Colors and materials explore a new ‘upbeat’, inspired by the playfulness of technology. With a high pantone, high accent, a loud message is communicated. Hair screams of flexibility, as make-up explodes in rose reds and acid yellows.

Utopia is a futuristic trend. It evokes a softer world, full of emotion. All is crisp, bright and inspirational, pastel nuances glowing with soft warmth in the background.
Transparent styling and shoulder-short cuts of blonde dominate, with a glow of elegance and purity. Delicate, weightless cosmetics give superior softness to the newly emerging feminine take on technology.

De -Lush is a state of mind – a ripe, full, confident attitude to life. De-Lush is a doorway to that attitude. De-Lush is about acceptance of who we are - the natural body in all its glory.
Warmth and radiance come from satin browns and hair is bursting with volume, sensuality and shine. Rich copper and ginger shades bring us instantly warmer complexions, with a blushing coral feel.

Now, look at the creative styles….which one do you like?
