A Heritage Night

(I just got back from watching the game between 2 giants – Chelsea and Liverpool. Decided to update my diary as I am still feeling fresh after a bath.)

Friday was not quite a Friday for me as I had sales meeting. It was a shorter meeting than usual as it ended by 4-ish.

Anyway, after sending out a few urgent emails and having a consultation session with my mentor (she will be away for 1 week), Mamma Mia and I drove downtown. We were invited for an event at Heritage Mansion (by the Head of Fashion Faculty, Azreen) – a fashion show by students of PJCAD (PJ College Art and Design).

It was my second time there. I realized it had been such a long time since I last went to Heritage Row. The used-to-be parking area has a very nice looking building; some of the pubs that I know are now with different names and interior. Wow, how time flies. I think the last time I went there was a couple of years ago.

We reached early, so we headed to the famous Hainanese restaurant to grab a bite. Yummy! Succulent! The boss was kind enough to serve us with their last few servings of Chicken Chop before he called it a day.

There weren’t many people yet after our meal. We managed to get good seats at the VVIP area! There was where it was reserved for us! Of course, I would never let a photo taking opportunity go….

We met a few business associates there and one of them was Daniel Chong, a fashion designer. We chatted until the show almost started.

The themes of the students’ creation were Heritage and Cultural.

Here are some photos of the designs….some sexy, some with strong elements and of course some which were so-so… Overall, they were not too bad.

After the event, we went for supper with a few other business associates at Jalan Ipoh. They brought us to try out the famous curry noodles and char koay tiau. The curry was santan-ish and watery. Ooooo…..slurped – slurped…they were really yummylicious! Cheap and nice! We headed home after the full meal.
