I stepped into this restaurant for lunch. It is one of the oldest restaurants in town; one of those that I used to dine in when I was still in my primary years (can you imagine that?!)

Well, the interior didn’t change much. It was still how it looked 20 years ago (maybe some minor renovation or touch up job). Short 'drapes' were still hanging down. Stools stucked to the ground. And of course, it is still as ‘smoky’ as last time once the ‘stove’ starts working.

I ordered beef teppanyaki. As usual, the plate was served with rice and pickles first, followed by either the vegetables or meat. I requested for lots of vegetables. And yes, the chef of the day gave me double serving! Yay!
The funny thing about this restaurant’s cooking is the taste is not quite consistent as it all relies on the chef at the ‘booth’. He will be the one to do the flavouring – with salt and pepper….
How was mine that day? So-so…..
