Hello 2010 !!!!

Yup, and so the year of 2009 had ended. No more writing or typing ‘09’ at the end of a date.

The long weekend started at 1pm for me yesterday. Yes, an extra half a day for me from the company. Yay! Anyways….

I went to Pappa Rich to finish up a report for submission. But, of course, I lepakked there with MoneyMagnetBabe after my report was sent….was there till 4pm. It was great to spend the afternoon partially working and chatting away, catching up with friends… :)

I had a different experience welcoming the New Year, this time round.

We met up for dinner at a secluded place. We chatted and talked about our New Year resolutions (which I will tell you mine later) and chewed on the western food served. We were stuffed at the end of the meal. We wanted to adjourn for coffee, but ooopps, no room for it anymore.

It was rather impromptu – the plan we had (…hmm..what plan?). We drove to Sunway and parked the car at a safe spot by the housing area. It was still an hour away from midnight. Initially, we were busy replying and sending text messages to our friends. Then later, I was feeling sleepy. Couldn’t keep my eyes opened, so we put up the car sunshades to not let passerby look in (for safety sake). I took a nap.

11.50pm, we came out from the car and walked towards the railing. There was a big commotion. The main road was filled with cars, easily 3-4 rows and left one lane for cars to drive pass.

Waited anxiously

When our watches’ needle stroke 12, we hugged and wished each other Happy New Year! One thing was said to me: “New year is here, no more mourning. It is the past.”

The fireworks started and it lasted for only 5 minutes.

After that, we went for yum char session. We continued chatting and laughing, planned for our weekend too….

2am, I was driving home on the quiet highway. That was how I ushered in the New Year. Totally unplanned, unexpected and first time experiencing watching fireworks by the roadside.
