Socializing Weekend

Last week passed by with a blink of an eye.

Wednesday, I had to attend an event in the evening. So, it was pretty much a half day work in the office. It was the company’s 43rd anniversary dinner. The theme was Floral Chic, so all of us were in floral print dresses or skirts or shirts (batik) Well, it was ok to attend the event – more of socializing around and trying to build repo. The dinner was very long. We had to wait from 6.30pm till 9pm before dinner was served. All of us were starving. The entertainment of the night was good – Harith Iskandar and Douglas Lim performed live on stage with their comedian jokes and acts. I ended the night at 11.40pm as I was tired and had to work the next day.

Thursday came. I worked till 6.30pm. I kinda lost motivation that day. Most of the people went for a futsal challenge – it was a monthly sports event in our company. I didn’t go for it as I had lots piled up for me to complete. I was supposed to have steamboat dinner with Guardian Angel, but he wasn’t feeling too well, so I packed dinner for us and ate at his place.

Friday was supposed to be a replacement holiday for me as Saturday was Agung’s birthday. I ended up arranging to meet suppliers. The day just flew passed. In the evening, met up with Guardian Angel for Shrek 3 and dinner. The movie is funny but it was not as good as the first 2 episodes. Luckily, I used the free tickets for redemption of the movie.

Saturday started at 7.30am for me. I needed to ensure all operations and set up were fine before the official opening gambit. So sweet of him to accompany with for it and sacrificed his beauty sleep on a Saturday. When everything was done, up and running, I met up with a group of friends (or more like ex-business associates) - Coincidently In Trend magazine was having a concourse event at One Utama as well, so I asked Lili, Brandon and Rosie for a drink whilst they had their late lunch. It was really great to catch up with them ever since I left my ex company for almost 8 months now.

Managed to hit the gym for an hour session and met up with Mrs Giggs & Arrow for dinner. It had been weeks since I last met up with them. We hung out till past midnight and it was time for me to hit the bed. I was really exhausted after a long day of mingling and “social hopping”, one after another.

This morning, again I made a trip to One Utama to ensure everything are operating smoothly. It was great to meet up with Will Quah in person. I engaged him as my emcee for the afternoon event. There were some hiccups for the event, but managed to solved them.

So I left the venue and my real weekend really began. I rushed to get a bouquet. The thought of getting some fresh flowers for someone special just came to me while I was walking down to the parking lot. It was for a belated mother’s day celebration.

Guardian Angel brought me for some nice Tong Sui and finger food. I have to admit that I was rather disturbed and moody this afternoon. Quite a fair bit of problems to think about and to sort out. I kinda guess he knew but didn’t probe further. We paid Jovial Stevie a visit for our ‘ritual game’ thereafter. It was a nice way of spending the afternoon together. We laughed and had fun. My mood picked up.

I hung around watching tv at Guardian Angel’s house after a very filling dinner at the cozy restaurant. We celebrated his mum’s belated- Mother’s -Day….. I’ve decided to call it a day and headed home with him accompanying me home at 11pm.

I am tired.
