Tuesday Blues

I am all stressed up today. I need a drink. A real alcoholic drink; which I will be having it with Guardian Angel later. Can't wait for it.

It had been quite a long day, I felt. Sitting here in my room, attending to problems and and also supervising the people around me...... I guess that's my job. Sorry, I forgot about that for a moment! *Doink*

Ok, need to stop crapping here and I need to Skype with my boss now.

Ciao!

Night Note

As you know, I was supposed to have my 'me-time' to run some errands. But, I only managed to leave work at 8.30pm. I had an hour long Skype session with my boss. I left for dinner and headed home thereafter.

My stomach is not feeling too good now. Maybe it's because of the irregular food intake - portion wise. Sometimes I eat a alot, sometimes I only have salad for lunch.

I don't think I will look at my work tonight. Will watch some TV with Chip and just chill.

A 5 minutes Breather

Taking myself away for 5 minutes from the work that I have to do.

It's quiet sitting here in my room; starting to feel cold as it is raining outside. Another wet and cold day. It has been like this for the past few days or weeks.

I've received a text message from Guardian Angel this morning, stating that he has an appointment with his old friend tonight. Hence, we will not be meeting up. I am all cool about it as this will give me time, some personal time, to do my own things. :)

I've also received a call from her in the afternoon. She was telling me that everything seems fine so far and just have to revisit the doctor in 6 weeks time for the next check-up. I was happy to hear that. I really hope this set of medication works. She seems fine and is feeling better compared to weeks back. :)
Ok, back to work now. This week will be quite a heavy week for me, I foresee.

Will you Go all Out?

How true is this? Men nowadays really don’t prefer to get a partner who lives further or outstation? But, what if it is fated? Or will this man fight against fate?

Chip - A Gift

I have been wanting this....and I got it now!!

Isn't it cute?!

It was a gift.
Law of Attraction?

A Surprise Foodie Night

I was in the mood of cooking. So, I ‘pakat’ with Stevie and made Saturday a Foodie Night. I wanted to give Guardian Angel a surprise.

You see, to me, cooking requires mood. A good one. If the chef’s mood is good, the dishes will taste yummy. Remember the movie by Sarah Michelle Gellar – Simply Irresistible back in 1999? Yup, so don’t cook when you are in a bad mood. Hehe…

I cooked my all time favourite – Japanese Seafood Garlic Fried Rice. I could still remember my first time cooking it- no recipe, no guidance. I experimented it.

I think I overcooked it because it was only meant for 3-4 pax that night, but the end result was, it was enough to serve for 6-8 pax. :)

I started off my day very early as early as 7.30am. I sent Optimus Prime for a service. Thereafter, I drove to a few places to get all of the ingredients and necessities for this dish. By the time I got home, it was already 2pm. I had a simple lunch and started preparing for dinner.

Here are the ingredients needed:
1. Lots of garlic
2. Japanese rice – must be the one with the fat boy with mouth opened (the green packaging)
3. Dory fish – 3 slices
4. Prawns
5. Squid for texture
6. Eggs - 2
7. Garlic butter
8. Crab sticks – for color
9. Japanese seasoning

Fry the eggs

Pan Fry the Dory fish slices

Wait patiently for the prawns to turn orange

Japanese rice

Firstly, steam the rice (if you have a rice cooker, then use it). Make sure the water to cook it is sufficient, or it will make the rice soggy. Then, while waiting for the rice to cook, pan fry all of the seafood individually; one after another as well as the eggs. Once the rice is done, stir it up and air it. The rice will become slightly dry, which is just nice for fried rice. You can also use “overnight rice”.

Start frying the garlic till it’s half cook or just cooked, then start mixing it with the rice and put in the garlic butter. Mixed them evenly. Put in the seafood and start frying/ mixing it. Lastly, add in some fish roe for color.

Mum took this photo as she has never seen me cooking at home. :)

Me - not curi makan but food tasting

Walah, it is done. Simple isn’t it?

We had it for supper too!!! At the end of the day, I asked for feedback. What was the verdict?

“Yummy. Delicious. Thank you.”

It’s all worth it. The travelling and time spent. :)

A Tinge of Luck Means A Lot At Times

I embarked on a day trip down South few days back. It was one heck of an adventure. Let the drama diva (self claimed, haha) tell you about the day filled with dramas…….

I was on Firefly Airline as the timing was more in my favour and also I didn’t like the distance travelling all the way to Sepang. I was in the airport around 7am. I checked-in and walked through the custom and passed through all the checks of bag. I sat down and waited for the plane to arrive. My flight was scheduled to be at 7.55am and so I was blasting my Ipod away while waiting…..I waited and waited and the time has was showing 8.10am. I didn’t realize that I was waiting at the domestic flight departure hall until I went to ask the ground operations officer. She informed me that I should go to the international flights departure hall which was next door.

First time I see the actual propeller on a plane. How Sua-ku, I am?

SHIT!!!! I ran over in my heels and again checked-in at the counter. The first thing the lady said was: "you are very lucky. The flight is delayed to 8.20am." I thanked her and hurried my way into the hall. Sat down for awhile and boarded the plane.

Phew! What a relieve. I didn’t miss my flight and luckily it was delayed and I will be late for my training, which was starting at 10am. What a blessing in disguise.

I was sitted next to the aisle. Next to me was this clean-cut looking Indian man. We started chatting and he is a consultant for APAC region in Kelly Services. Later he got all excited and couldn’t wait to share with his wife that he met me, who works in a hair product company and handles a all-time favourite brand, System Professional.

I took a nap while my Ipod was on. Finally, we’ve landed in the Land of Kiasuness; safely.

I hurried to the cab stand and made my way to the training center. I was there to be a sponge on the hair trends release of 2011. I needed to get as much info as I could.

[Snap shots taken in the cab, on the way to the training center]

The training session went on well. I met up with my team members (who travelled a day earlier) and also met my counterparts around ASEAN countries. I’ve also met up with my previous colleagues who are now based in Singapore’s office.

I left the building at 5.15pm to the airport. My flight was booked for 6.45pm but it was delayed (again) to 7.30pm. I asked the officer for the reason of the delay. “The runway is broken and plane has technical problem”. “RUNWAY BROKEN”???? Ok, whatever…

[The building I was in - Park Mall]

[Shot taken while on the way to the Budget Airport.
Below is my "Fast & Furious- Uncle- Taxi- Driver. He made me feeling nauseous and almost puke when I got out from the cab. His display screen was showing "DRIVE CAREFULLY" in RED!!! What was that supposed to mean??]

One thing about Firefly is that they inform their customers on any flight delays or changes via text messages. So, I waited for the time to come. Later, an announcement was made that my flight is delayed from 7.30pm to 8.30pm!!!! This time, I was very annoyed. I walked around the waiting area and tried looking for any information counter. I wanted to check if I can catch another earlier flight home if the plane is not full. Again, walking in my killer heels, it was really killing me; my feet! I got really frustrated and desperately sought help from 2 officers who were buying their coffee from the café. I just want to go home.

I told them my situation and one of them were kind enough wanting to escort me out the gates to the Check-in counter to enquire. Half way walking there, she recognized a Firefly staff and so I turned to this Firefly staff with my problem.

She was unsure about the transfer of flights, but I think she saw my tired, pitiful face, she asked me to wait while she checks on it in her office. There was quite a bit of hassle transferring me to the earlier flight as her manager didn’t allow it. I made a fuss (in a nice way, simply because she was kind enough to help me) for the transfer because I don’t see a problem since the plane has empty seats!!

[While waiting, I slipped out my camera to keep myself occupied. I wished I have a BB to play with]

Ended up after quite a wait, she told me to try my luck at the boarding gate. For the 7.30pm flight, it was located at Gate 10! A super long walk. I was dragging my feet with an empty stomach and made my way there finally. I was sitting there, waiting for the gate to open. While playing with my mobile phone, an Indian staff approached me and asked if I was the person who requested for the transfer. He informed me to wait as the manager will bring my amended boarding pass for the 7.30pm flight! Yes! I was really happy and grateful to him for the good news, and most importantly, my gratitude to the lady who helped me from the beginning.

I was almost the last person to board the plane. The manager brought the boarding pass at the 11th hour. I thanked the lady and boarded the plane. Guardian Angel was already at Skypark waiting for me when I arrived. I hopped into his car and off we went for a quick dinner.

I don’t think I will be taking Firefly for my future trips unless it’s really needed. I cannot accept the delays as time is precious and it will interrupt all my plans.

Sometimes determination to get something is important, but a little luck at times helps! Thank God!

Mid Week Sail

It was a very challenging day for me at work yesterday.

The day first started off with a meeting. It was more of a brainstorming and decision making meeting. I normally gather everyone’s input before making a decision as everyone has their ideas. It was really quite frustrating when someone speaks sarcastically and pushing the responsibility around.

I don’t see a point in doing those acts. Everyone is responsible for the project and of course we want to make it a success. It is obvious that it will not be only one person’s winning credit when the project succeeds; it is everyone’s – the team.

Respect was another matter that bothered me. I know that respect is being earned. However, there is also the ‘basic respect’ in the case when someone speaks or enquire politely, the answers do not need to be in a rude manner.

Anyway, I brushed them off by bogging myself down with work. It was a busy day for me – the day filled with teleconferences with Singapore and also handling issues which urgent help was needed.

My rough sailing day ended at 8pm. I packed up and left the office. I was quite exhausted – mentally.

Met up with Guardian Angel and Stevie for dinner. I was late for our appointment. 1 hour. After dinner, they adjourned to Stevie’s house for a game of cards. I was supposed to go as well to have some fun, but I’ve finally decided not to go as my eyes were really tired plus I didn’t want to affect the guys with my moodiness from work. So, I gave Guardian Angel a call and told him about my decision. I told him that I can make my way home as it was so nearby (and we went in separate cars) and he doesn’t need to accompany me home.

Little did I know, I saw his car when I was waiting for my auto gate to open. He ensured that I reach home safely before he left for the game. How sweet!!! Totally didn’t expect that to happen! Sometimes, big and pricy gifts do not count, but little action like this makes a difference too in a relationship.

I was working at home after my bath. My boss was on Skype so we chatted for awhile on the happenings in the office as she is on leave (in London till early Dec). She was concerned if I was stressed up and thanked me for holding the fort while she is away. Well, it is my job and this is what I always emphasize- “team work”.

By midnight, I hit the bed..and guess what, I woke up late this morning!! Ooo….rush rush….but still made it on time. :)

A busy bee on a Sunday

My day was rather a packed one. It first started with giving my Gabby her weekly bath. Then I went to the gym for a sweat session. I had a quick lunch before going to C4 for my groceries shopping. I needed food!!!!

After that, I zoomed off to my regular "wash & blow" hair salon. I normally go there for desperate measures. :) I had a wedding to attend tonight. Both Guardian Angel and I were invited to Xandria and Yuri's wedding dinner. It was held at JW Marriot, KL.
This is me, before leaving the house.

So, we made our way there. Minggled around with the people who I once worked with and maybe again in future since I am back in this industry now. It was great to see them again and know that they actually remember me, after being MIA for a year!
There was this guy who we met randomly. We started chatting and found out that he was Xan's uni mate. Later, he started asking how Guardian Angel and I both got together. Well, Guardian Angel shared with him the beginning chapter of our journey and he actually found it romantic! :)
I've also managed to congratulate Yuri, Xan, Susan and Alex individually (Susan is Xan's mum and Alex, her dad) when we were still outside of the ballroom. Introduced Guardian Angel to them, except to Yuri and Xan (Guardian Angel was in the restroom when I managed to catch the groom and the bride). All of them were dying to meet Guardian Angel, actually. They are all happy for me. :)
After a while, we adjourned to the ballroom as the dinner was starting. We both held our glasses and entered the room. Wow, the decor was unique and pretty! It was actually decorated with candles litted mannequines, wrapped with cloths - it was a wedding dress symbol.

No names were on the backdrp, unlike the usual, typical wedding dinner one. With the drawing, we knew it was Xan & Yuri.

I find the dinner rather a unique one, in terms of the dinner menu. It wasn't the traditional menue, starting with 4 seasons Hot and Cold dishes, shark fin's soup, chicken or fish, followed by veg.....and the menu ends with either a hot pancake or sweet dessert. It was an English Menu (not like menus are written in Chinese). It was Prawn salad, then moved on to English Soup and then Lychee Sorbet. How unique? Then, it continued with a dish of fish, chicken and ended with a chocolate cake. (Sorry, I don't remember all those fanciful names of the dishes)

There were so many glamorous people at the event - we spotted Deborah Henry, Joey G, Chelsia Ng, Nell, Daphne Iking and daughter, Harith Iskandar and wife, Hansen Lee, Dennis Lau, Vanessa Chong, Vince Chong and so many to list them there.

It was a sweet performance from Yuri to Xan. He sang his heart out solo first, then followed with his 'brothers' and 'ji muis'. Great performance!

We didn't stay too till the end as I am flying off early tomorrow morning to Singapore.

Okie, better stop here and hit the bed. Need to wake up early and full concentration is needed during the training!
It was another set of experience with Guardian Angel tonight. A glamorous one!

Till then! :*

Shopping & Movie Saturday

I hit Sunway Pyramid at about 10.15am. I didn't want to waste time getting a parking, and thinking to avoid walking in the congested mall, I've decided to go early.

I was hungry, so I had breakie at Kim Gary. A quick one.

I started my shopping journey alone right after breakie. I needed to get mainly 2 items since I didn't get to hunt for them properly during my last trip.

After walking store to store, from the highest level to the lowest and back up the highest. I've finally found a dress and a pair of heels. Yay! I am so happy that I saw this pair of shoes, displaying at the corner on the top shelf. Fell in love with them. New arrivals?! It was on discounted price as well.

After feeling contented with my shopping trip, I left the mall for my best friend's second branch opening. To my paradise - a floral shop!

It is called Flower World. [check it out: www.flowerworld.com.my] It is located in Taipan, USJ 10. The shop's main entrance has a giant teddy bear. Soooooo cute! They have great varieties of flowers, bouquets, and services! You can even shop online and add the items into your cart. How convenient is that?

We caught up and chatted till 3pm and I left. I headed home as I had some housework to do.

Later at night, Guardian Angel picked me up for dinner. He was back in the afternoon but I asked him to take a rest. It must have been a long journey driving for 4 hours. We had my craving again - Steamboat, this time round and headed back to his place for a movie. It's just so relaxing to spend time together at home. Tomorrow, will be another day of excitement and experience with him. :)

Friday's Fishy Dinner

I picked them up for dinner. We had Japenese cuisine - my favourite. (Normally Friday is Fish Day for papa.)

We ordered a plate of sashimi appetizer. Nice dressing though.

Mama ordered this Rainbow Roll for herself. But ended up all of us shared. :)

This is mine. And we also ended up sharing it.

And....this is me, after a day at work.

Smoke?!

Smoke!!!!

No, there wasn't a fire in the building. It was the fogging that was going on to keep us from the evil mosquitoes! I dashed over to quickly close the window. Just in time, phew!

Some Free Time

I don't know I am feeling quite 'free' today.

I had a quick meeting with big boss at 11.30am on the upcoming events and was out by 12.15pm. My colleague spared me some food and that was my lunch. Saved me from going out alone. Most of my lunch kakis are out for the day to the trade.

Now, I am waiting for some raw data to be emailed to me to churn out a report for Singapore.

I will be having some time to myself from today till tomorrow evening as Guardian Angel is out of town for a trade presentation. He just texted me that he has reached safely. :)

What will I be doing during my "alone time"? I will be going for a manicure service later as I have a wedding dinner to attend with Guardian Angel on Sunday (at JW Marriot). After the serivce, I will be heading home for dinner with parents. I will have other things to do tomorrow.
Oh, as I am typing now, I've received the data. Back to work!

Three Homes

Let me give you a little bit of the background why I have 3 homes.

Home #1:
Of course, it is my own home lar. I live there.

Home #2:
My cubicle where I sit (and used to sit) on the same floor with my boss. Easy access to catch hold of her for discussions and etc and all of my marketing working files are there. The place I would see suppliers and I spend longer hours there.
(Please excuse the mess. This photo was taken a year ago, on my last day in the office. I left in a hurry as I worked till the very last day before I embarked on the new journey.)

Home#3:
This is my “third home”. My own room in the office. And it is the place where I have privacy the most. A place to myself.
Either I am here or there

A room with glass window to see what is happening out there

See out there! I am watching YOU. :)

Quite a cozy room

My workstation

To look out for inspirations :p

It is located on ground floor. I have this room is because besides doing marketing, I am also managing the Education department (in terms of planning for them). You see, they are hairstylists and I am the “Ah Sei” for them, in terms of paperwork and planning their time schedule. Of course, I would know nuts about the practical works, but I am here to get things running smoothly for them.

I will spend my day or hours sitting here, as long as most of them are in the office. At least this way, they will not feel that I neglect them and I also will be able to discuss on matters and understand them better.

A Hairy Harry Potty night

I had the chance to leave
work early today as I was out since 5.15pm for an appointment at Empire Hotel. I was there with a colleague of mine to check out and evaluate if the venue is suitable for our upcoming launch event.

We were done around 6.10pm. We said our goodbyes and went on our own separate ways. I left for Sunway Pyramid. I had a date.

I had a date with Guardian Angel. Since I was there early, I went to get my watches fixed. The store manager was so kind to change the broken parts for free! She told me to come back in 20 minutes time to collect them. So, within that 20 minutes time, I dropped by the pharmacies to check out if there were any items on sale. Empty handed, I walked back to the store. They weren’t fixed, so I told her to just raise me a receipt and I will come back to collect them maybe over the weekend. She agreed.

I walked towards the cinema and collected the booked tickets. My feet were feeling tired, so I sat at the bench and waited for him. Later, I saw him walking towards me, clad in a dark purple shirt! What a coincidence, I was dressed in a light purple shirt and pants! Hmm….great minds think alike or we just had sixth sense of what the other party would be wearing for the day. This wasn’t the first time, but quite a few cases lately.

We had dinner at Nandos. I somehow was craving for it. So, we walked hand in hand to the restaurant. The restaurant was packed but we managed to have a little corner to ourselves. Yay! By the time I reached my last bite, I was feeling stuffed! Up to the brim. Burrppp…. Oopps…sorry!

He paid up the bill and we left for the cinema. Just in time for “A-Potty-which-is-Hairy”. Yup, we watched the newly released Harry Potter. Well, the movie is not my cup of tea, but I knew Guardian Angel watched the previous chapters (maybe out of boredom), so may as well to complete the whole series? I booked the tickets online this morning.

Wow, the movie was a really long one. 2 hours plus. There were several scenes which gave me a shock. I think most likely I will be shouting if we were watching a 3D version?! Out of a sudden, a python just stuck its head out?? Hmm…. Anyway, I find the movie quite a boring one.

We left for home and as usual, he accompanied me home. He ensured me entering the gates, parked my car, till I closed the main door before he drove off.

A hairy harry night we had….ooops, I mean a starry starry night? Hahaa…

Good night!

The Nights...

We always enjoy a simple night out with friends or just us.

Cheers!

Upset for a 'GOOD Reason'

I was quite upset yesterday. I practically didn’t do much except for some office work, watched Astro programs and finally fell asleep till evening time. I waited and waited and waited……

Finally, I received a text message. I was still rather upset and decided to drop by my bestie’s place for a drink before I went for dinner. Later, during dinner time I found out the actual reason of the long wait. I somehow felt proud of what was done (I shall not share the incident which took out 6 hours), but then again. It was a Good Samaritan act. But someone needs to have the sense of responsibility sometimes, anyhow.

I gave my piece of mind and hopefully there will be no repetition. Time means a lot to me as I usually plan and allocate them as smartly as I can. I also don't want to get angry for nothing. It's kinda tiring and makes me age faster. Hahaha :)

Double Assurance?

I have received 2 assurances within 24 hours.

One told me that he really do love me and care for me. One told me that the big guy up there has arranged a better plan for all of us; for me with a better future.

An Unforgettable Monday Night

It was a cold and wet evening. The rain and the bad traffic didn’t stop me from going to SJMC for a visit. I was there for about 45 minutes and left for dinner with Guardian Angel.

He was a little late due to the bad traffic at his work area. He strutted in the restaurant, clad in a white T-shirt with red and green stripes on the right shoulder and jeans. He looked different for a Monday. :) It was a simple dinner we had. I really enjoyed the moment we both shared the day we had at work and the conversation we had.

He led the way back to my place. We spent a good few hours, watching a DVD together. Even though it was a Monday, but it was still great to me to spend some quality time with him. We called it a night when the clock stroke 12.

I don’t think I am able to forget a sight I experienced last night.

The Presence

I received a phone call from her when I was having brunch with Mrs Giggs that mid morning. My heart sank. She informed me that she needed to be admitted for check and observation over the weekend.

I didn’t want to just leave Mrs Giggs because we both were supposed to shop for the items we needed. So, we proceeded with our plan. Guardian Angel texted me in the afternoon asking me where was I. I told him that I was shopping with someone, and I played the mysterious game – I didn’t tell him directly who I was with. Later in his reply, he told me that he was going outstation with 'someone'. What?!!! I was shocked and another ‘heart sank feeling’ attacked. I was so wanting to see him and plus, it was a weekend!

With the received phone call from her, I really needed him to be by my side. I needed support. I needed someone to fall back on. Later, he revealed that he was just pulling my leg. A tit-for-tat game he played on me. It was a relief! A big one.

I finally called it a day of shopping. I wanted to pack up the necessaries and bring them over for her. I spent about an hour there. She looked fine but 'mentally weak'. I stayed strong and ensured her everything will be fine. I also reminded her to not give up.

She reminded me on her wish again. I didn’t say a word when she mentioned it again.

At night, I felt so much comforted being with Guardian Angel. He picked me up for dinner and we headed to Skewers. I took a few sips of his beer after dinner. We didn’t dwell a lot into the situation, but his presence and actions were enough to me. I knew I could fall back on him, seek comfort and mental support from him. That was enough and I am truly grateful; or else I might have brokendown.

Look Forward

I am having a new experience at work. The additional role is givng me a good learning chance. I simply believe every challenges I meet along my journey in life, adds value to my learning curve.

Besides work life, I am looking forward to have a different kind of vacation. The places I used to visit, eat and have fun, it seems mundane now. Someone else might be going through those experiences over and over again; walking on those ground that I've stepped on, the route that I was on and eating the dishes that I've used to taste each time....

I am just looking forward for a different experience in total. And now, I am going shopping! Looking for new addition to my closet! Wish me luck, that I will find some good stuff..

Stout & Zanmai

We started off the night with a mug of Stout in Chillis, Empire Shopping Gallery, while waiting for our other friend to arrive. After a mug of dark happy juice, I was feeling all happy and laughing away. We adjourned to Pasta Zanmai for dinner. I ordered Unagi set and he ordered Seafood Noodles. Surprisingly, the noodles were yummy and the soup was tasty! Yum….

Later, our friend arrived. We chatted and caught up with our recent updates.

It was a simple Thursday night out.

TGIF!

Beware of what you say and ask for….

Remember how I was just blogging about not having a fast moving mood to work?

Today during lunch time with an old friend, I heard some ‘updates’ and it kind of motivated me (hints) to work harder and smarter. The news have also reminded me to be wary and alert with my job; the assignments I do.

I also remembered how my buddy once told me to talk to the Universe and becareful of what you ask for. Today, I realized it again. This is not the first time that happened to me. (I’ve gotten a request that I asked from the Universe in March this year. It was a good one though :) )

The Lefty & The Righty

That was this morning’s discussion topic. Both the radio deejays were discussing about and elaborating on this. People claimed that lefties tend to be more creative, a quick thinker, witty and successful. This is because they work with their right brain. However, there is a setback of being the minority in the society. Most tools are made for righties.

Many successful countries leaders and celebrities are lefties; for example Obama Barrack, Ronald Reagan, George Bush, Bill Clinton, Angelina Jolie, Keanu Reeves and Oprah Winfrey.

I have met parents who get upset when their child learns to write with their left hand. Personally, I don’t see any harm when a kid feels natural and comfortable using either one of the hands to write or doing things. We shouldn’t force them to change.

Apparently, there were researchs and results shown that lefties are actually people who are more logical, rational, analytical, and objective; whilst right handers are random, intuitive, holistic synthesizing and look at whole.

I also have heard people saying that it is better for a righty to use their left hand. It can be any form. A simple example is have meals with our left hand; use the utensils when dining. I am practicing this so that I don’t put my right brain to waste. :)

There is a person who I know, uses both hands. He writes with his left, but he does other things with his right. So, what do you think?
