A Freezing Trip

It was a cool afternoon that we drove up to Genting Highlands. 4 of us in the car, chatting and laughing our way up. It was the longest time since I last went up that highland.

The journey was smooth and the weather started to get more and more cooling as we drove up.
The scene was serene; weather was cold....

Then, it was like this after we have passed by Awana, Gotong Jaya and the temple. Brrr......cold!
I had my window down and enjoyed the cold air. Ahh.....refreshing! Later, after having the cold air blowing at my face for about 5 minutes, my face started to feel stiff, so I wind up the window and put on my new jacket. :)

Nice view, isn't it?

We parked our car and checked into the hotel first. We unloaded our bags and took a rest before spending the day out. It was my first time staying in Resort Hotel. The room was a bit noisy as it was near the air-con compressor. But, can't complain much because it was given FREE!

We walked around and later settle at New Orleans for dinner. It is a restaurant near the casino. The choice of food is western - chicken chop, pork chop, sausages, etc..Some of the food comes with free flow of soup and coffee/tea. I can't remember how we walked to this place, as Stevie was the tour guide for this trip. Hahaha... he is a regular here.

I really didn't know the existence of this restaurant, located at one corner. The price for the food is reasonable and environment is not crowded yet have their patrons. Cozy and simple.

After yacking and filling up our tummies, we continued to walk around. There was a 3 days super-mega-sales going on for those outlets in Genting. Up to 70% sales!!! Too bad... I didn't get anything that night.

As usual, during weekends, there were shows on the big stage. We didn't visit Ripley's Believe it Or Not, or the Haunted House or the cinema there.

Instead, we went for games of Bowling. Quite a bit has changed since my last trip. This time the bowling center has Glow in the Dark decor. Oh my, we are expected to play in the dark? This only happens from 8pm onwards.

Guardian Angel paid up the bill for the games and shoes rental. We were busy looking for our bowling ball with the right weight... :P

Guardian Angel took the initiative to key in our names into the system. I was busy snapping away...

And the competition - oppps, I mean the game began...

In between, we took some photos for remembrance.

We played 2 games each person. Some of us had our legs and arms started to ache at the end.

Of course, a defintely MUST -NOT- MISS is to sit at Coffee Bean when you are Genting Highlands and soak yourself in the cold air. It was really cold that night - 18 degrees celcius. I was shivering! Later, we decided to pack our hot drink and enjoy them in the room.

Passed midnight, we started to visit the casino. It was my first time ever to step into the famous Genting casino (Jakun-nya, haha). It was huge! And in actual fact, there are a few casinos....somehow link together.

The casinos were really packed with people. I scanned around and the people were all young, middle age, and old. Oh my...I really couldn't imagine. There were so many Gods of Gamblers - and the amount of dollar notes they place on the table for the dealer to change to chips..... Wow. The amount couldn be one's whole year's salary?! It was an eye opener to me. I held tightly Guardian Angel's hand as we walked. I felt safer walking close to him.

I didn't dare to try my gambling luck, but Guardian Angel, Stevie and Jennie did. I was the "spectator" and supporter. :) We played a few assorted card games and also the jackpot machine; till 5.45am. It was time to go back to the room.
The casino provides brochures for all sorts of games. Unbelieveable! Talk about education, man.

We woke up after an average of 4- 5 hours of sleep and checked out of the hotel. We lepakked in the casino again till late afternoon before we left the hill. I was all worn out and slept in the car till it reached my door step. I continued sleeping once I went up to my room.

I love the colorful lights in this sleepless city. I love the cold breeze and weather. I missed the outdoor games (it was really misty, cold and wet during the day, so we didn't manage to play any). Guardian Angel told me that we will revisit the place again....soon.

And I am looking forward to it!
