Ushering 2011 with lots of Love

Happy new year, everyone!!!

It was a beautiful night for me.

Firstly, I started off my day with getting the right ingredients and then started preparing dinner since the afternoon. I was the chef of the day for our friends……Guardian Angel came to pick me up and off we went to Stevie’s place. Jennie was already there and we started to eat what I have prepared. We didn’t want to go to any crowded places like pubs to countdown. I guess when we have reached a certain age (not that we are old, ok), we just prefer the peace and to avoid the crazy traffic – human and on the road.

It was our favourite Japanese Seafood Fried Rice, stir fried Portobello mushroom with herbs and extra virgin olive oil, and mash potato. The latter 2 dishes were more of like side dishes. Anyway, again I have cooked too much. We couldn’t finish the food.

Later at 11.15pm, we headed to Guardian Angel’s house. We went up the hill to watch fireworks. I sooooo wanted to watch the fireworks lighting up the sky, and so I had it. ;) While waiting for time to come, we slapped on a blue ray – Crazies. Oh my, the movie was really crazy – just like the title. I was shouting and adding extra sound effects throughout the whole movie. **Oopps….blushing. ;P

We paused the movie and walked out of the house 10 minutes before midnight. We wanted to get a good spot by the side of the cliff. When it was 12, the fireworks showered the dark sky. Thank goodness that the night’s weather were fine and cooling. I enjoyed it very much. Guardian Angel and I exchanged a kiss and wished each other ‘Happy new year’. At that moment, I really felt that I was standing on top of the world, and being the happiest person on earth. I reflected back how we met each other and progressed in 2010. I am happy that I was spending the night ushering in the new year with him. 2011 will be another good year for the both of us.

The raining-like lights of the houses and buildings with the patch of fireworks

We stood there, with my arm around his waist and his arm on my shoulder, watched the beautiful fireworks for about 10 minutes before they ended. We could see so many places being lit up with fireworks, from a distance. We were guessing the location – whether it was Sunway, The Curve or Kota Damansara.

We held hands and went back to the house and continued watching the Crazies. We went back to Stevie’s place after the movie to continue lepak and to yak.

The night was getting late (or early morning), we left for home. He sent me home and we bid our goodbyes.

Overall, I felt today was a long day and I have maximized it. It is a long weekend, afterall. Thanks to the government for this long weekend.

Good night, everyone. I hope you had a lovely night too.
