#4 on a Thursday

Wednesday midnight, I bbm-ed Guardian Angel if he wants to watch "I am number 4". It was finally released. I confirmed the time with him and bought the tickets online.

Guardian Angel made it in time for the movie. We ate in the cinema (thanks to my laptop bag, we smuggled in our dinner).

The movie was ok. I kinda liked it. Yeah, it is quite a teen-flick-high-school movie, but the action pack was not too bad. I felt it was very "Transformer", then it rang a bell that this movie was produced by Michael Bay.

I wonder why start the movie with Number Four? But, I guess Guai Loh's movie is oklar, 4 is not their pantang number also. Number 4 has torch light hands and Number 6 is fire proof! Hhmm....who do you want to be? If you are scared of dark, then Number 4 lar. Besides the 2 Numbered characters, and those huge- ass- snake- head looking aliens, the little doggy, Bernie, was cute! Awww.... Oh, I forgot to mention that the soundtrack is great too! Nice songs!

Overall, I enjoyed the movie. There were parts where scared me, but it was Ok. I had Guardian Angel beside me. ;)

Mind boggling on Work

It's Thursday and I am feeling tired for the week already. It had been very full and taxing for the past 3 days. I had internal trainings but I skipped some of it because there were just other urgent matters to attend to.

Yesterday I received a white envelop. The content wasn't filled with good news. It added on to my list of challenges. One of my senior team member wants to resign for a change of environment and better offered. I thought to myself if there were areas where I left out or not being understanding them (another one resigned last month and will be leaving in a few days' time).

While I was out of the company for a year (I changed job and came back), many things happened and all were accumulated. There were misunderstandings and the unhappiness in them was growing in them as the days passed. I know they are extremely sensitive and egoistic people. Perhaps the way I handled them wasn't as desired even though I "closed one eye" on small matters or doings by them. Or perhaps my style of working put them in a pressure cooker which they are not used to.

People management is really challenging. Each of everyone of us have different attitude and personality. My boss told me that I am having the most challenging job right now. I guess I need to have a helicoptic view at times and learn more in managing a team - a team of prima donnas.

A smile at the end of the day

I happy that I've put a smile on someone's face today.

Guardian Angel was feeling down today ( I could feel it even though he said he is not feeling well...maybe lar, but I trust my sixth sense still). So, I bbm-ed him in the afternoon if he wants to watch a movie tonight of his choice. I proposed 3 movies and yay! He chose The Mechanic. He was rather quiet when I met up with him in his rainbow color stripes shirt.

We had dinner first. [I was starving since 6pm. My stomach was growling when I was having a discussion with my boss. She was giving me tips on some marketing stuff. ]After dinner, we hung around in the arcade before going in to the cinema.

Without any expectation, the movie turned out to be exciting and got my adrenaline running. I entwined my arm with his, grabbing on to him when the cars exploded and gun shots through the heads.

After the movie, we both had the same thought of it being a bit too kua cheong (exaggerated). While we were walking to the car park, I felt that he was a little cheered up. I am glad that I did something to make him happy (I hope).

I always have this mindset that a relationship is a chain reaction. If one is feeling down, it will affect the other. But, why wanna let both feeling down, when one could do something to pick the mood up and put a smile on the face of the person I love?

2 Individuals; 2 Events

It was 3 days ago.....on 2011's Valentine's Day. I didn't spend the day with Guardian Angel. It was devastating at first to receive a text message invite from one of my big customers (in my heart, I went like "What?! On Valentine's day?!). He invited 4 of us from the company for his salon's annual dinner cum Chinese New Year dinner in Wisma Selangor Dredging, Jalan Ampang. Sum turned down the invite as he has already applied leave to go back to Ipoh since Tuesday as a public holiday. Another colleague of mine had the excuse that she has dinner appointment with her hubby. So, left only me and my boss. How not to go, right?

I informed Guardian Angel once I knew about this dinner appointment. He told me that then he will go watch Deftone's concert. It is a metal band and the concert is at Jalan Sultan Ismail.....From the way Guardian Angel spoke about this concert, he was really interested and eager to go. I know he loves concerts and rave parties - practically anything to do with the kind of music he likes. So, instead of being upset about this 'mishap', I took it as a blessing in disguise and encouraged him to go for it (he was still indecisive about it that time). If I didn't have this dinner to attend, there are 2 possible outcomes for my Valentine's Day - 1) Spend time with Guardian Angel with just dinner, etc or 2) going for the concert with him and his friend.

So, I bet while I was enjoying the customised dinner menu with all the goodies, he was enjoying there banging his head to the beat of Deftone. I hope his hearing is still good after the concert. . :)

I had so much to fill up my tummy and there was this sweet champagne. Oooo....yummy! There were loads of salmon for the Lou Sang, baked oyster, shark fin's soup, sea cucumber with vegetables, abalones, and a very unique, refreshing dessert with jelly. I've met a few new people; for example Key Ng - the fashion designer and Elsa Dang - the beauty editor for Citta Bella magazine. Both of them are really nice and down to earth people!

My dinner ended at about 11.00pm. I accompanied my boss to wait for her hubby to come pick her up. We were chatting and she felt a pity that I couldn't spend Valentine's Day with my darling. I told her that he went for a concert and I might follow him for it if it wasn't for the dinner. She knows that metal music is not really my cup of tea, but I told her "Sometimes it is the experience that counts and who you go with. I feel something is missing in life without new experiences. Life is all about experiencing new things." She paused and remained silent for awhile. We continued to chat for awhile till her hubby drove up the pick up area.

I walked to the carpark and left. It kind of brought back memories of me working in this building 7 years back. How time flies!

Alone - Peace at work (con't)

Sorry, I had to finish up some work just now so I had to stop myself from telling you the whole story of me being alone in the office.

On Monday, it was announced that our big boss is having a CNY lunch for all of the staff today. I hurried to inform the secretary once I've checked my calendar. I loaned our studio to one of our key customers (as a customer support) for them to prep the hair for a online show. It was way - prebooked and confirmed. I can't turn them down at this 11th hour.

So, she got quite annoyed with the happening and told me off to not arrange anything for 15 days of CNY celebration. Elo?! You think I want to have this happened? You think I called for it?! I got really irritated on her response to me.

And so today, I stayed back in the office while all of them went out for lunch. My boss was kind enough to self- volunteered to stay back but I thought I would be the better person, just in case my customer needed something, I know where to get them. My boss gave me her packed lunch and said she will get the secretary to bring back some good food for me! :)

The big boss bumped into me this morning and knew I wasn't joining for the luncheon, and he apologised to me that I had to stay behind. At least, he acknowledged that it was a kind did to our customer!

Alone - Peace at work

I am all alone in my room now; in the office. I have my customer using the studio for their hair prep work.

All of my colleagues are out for our company's CNY lunch. I will tell you why I am alone in the office - more of like Jaga office (taking care of the office) later.

Happy Luncheon in Marriot

We adjourned to Marriot Hotel in Putrajaya for luncheon - a continuation of celebrating the newly wed (registered) couple. Think this is my first time there.

While waiting for the rest of the invitees to arrive, we walked around and took some photos. Nice place!

The Chinese restaurant wasn't open for operation when we arrived. So, all of us were hungry (we went without breakfast since 8am that morning), we had a cuppa and shared a piece of cake.

Again, stopping by to snap a photo before entering the restaurant.

This Chinese restaurant is famous for their buffet dim sum and that was what we had. Oh my goodness, endless of dishes being served to our table; even without ordering them. We couldn't finish everything.

In between, we took a break from eating. We were checking out the photos taken by the appointed photographers. A lot of good shots taken!

Since one of our member was absent due to studying in Korea, we used Iphone to Skype with her. We really didn't want her to miss a thing on this cheery day; this happy event.

The goodness of technology!

I love my bestie and I am truly happy for her! She was there for me during my ups and downs, and I will be there for her too! This is what friends are for, what more being a Bestie?

We left for home after the scumptious meal. I went back to the office to 'hoi kong' as it was noted as an auspicious day basing on the chinese zodiac. :)

The Happy Day

Love is in the AIR. It was indeed. This blog entry is about a happy and memorable day added into my journey - my journey with my bestie for over the decade.

It all happened on 8th February 2011.

We arrived at JPN building that morning. We were there early as we didn't want to miss a single moment of MoneyMagnetBabe tying the knot. It all started last year if you remember we all went on a getaway. The main objective of this trip was Kian proposing to MoneyMagneyBabe. It was a total surprise for her!

After so 9 months, they registered! Here are some photos that we took for the day.

The 4 of us. Missing of 1 member.

Registering at the counter

The documents for registration

We had some time while waiting before entering into the room. So, we went snapping away lots of pictures of this HAPPY day!

Quite color co-ordinated, eh? We didn't plan it at all.

I love this photo. It's so "wonderland".....

The happy couple

At about 10am, it was our turn. Below is the process.....of getting registered to be a legal - husband and wife.

And I swear....with the vow
And signing the papers

And approving it

Exchange of rings

And they fit perfectly!

Wah lah! It's done!

As usual, we had a group photo. The little kid is Kian's little nephew.

And with all of the witnesses.

I am really happy for MoneyMagnetBabe. Everyone is.

Their wedding dinner will be held somewhere this year! Look out for the updates!

Show me LOVE - from flowers to veggies

In another 30 minutes time, it is the BIGGEST DAY for couples (traditionally) - Valentine's Day. There are people would say that everyday is Valentine's day. ;)

People are buying and ordering bouquets like nobody's business and the florists in town, restaurants and retailers are just smiling and grinning away for the "ke-cheng, ke-cheng sound" of the cash register from just ONE day.

Roses are the most common flowers that a guy would give a girl. But, I guess the world is changing slightly now...from flowers to presenting vegetables! I used to ask a friend of mine, "will you use brocollies and cauliflowers to propose to a girl?!" Hahha, I guess some people might consider this idea in future?

I saw this in yesterday's newspaper and this thing costs RM 100 - RM 250!

Double birthday celebration

Since our birthdays were just 1 week apart, plus it is chinese new year, a few of our friends had dinner together. We also planned it to be a surprise birthday dinner for Guardian Angel. He didn't know that there will be a cake - his favourite Haagen Dazs Chocolate Royale with macademia nuts Ice Cream Cake.

We met up at PJ Seafood as it was more centralised for all of us. I was late because I had meeting and discussions with my boss. [ Guardian Angel thought I went to get the cake]

My goodness, since I was the last to arrive, the rest of them ordered the food. When the dishes came, they were huge!! We seriously couldn't finish them but to to-go the remainings of 2 dishes.

This was our first time celebrating our birthdays together. =)

Both of us blew the candle.

But, the both of us didn't cut the cake together. I gave him the honour to do so; since he is the man. Hahahahaha.....

The ice cream cake was yummy but it got soft as the restaurant's worker placed it in a fridge. It wasn't difficult to cake it, but it was soft in the inside. We had to finish it fast as it was melting.
Overall, it was a great night.

Beginning of the New Year's Path

Back to work; and I am feeling the challenges. There is a lot to do and felt that there is so little time.
But, this year, if I can overcome all, I am sure there will be a fair treatment and rewards ,and I am looking towards it!

Eyes still quite wide open

Hmm....I just got home not too long ago. All bathed and cleaned now. :)

We had rounds of mahjong tonight. Me, the beginner, sigh...obviously didn't win at all. But, it is CNY, so heck, it is all about having fun!

Ok, good nite everyone. I have some errands to run tomorrow.....better force myself to sleep now.

IFF

Oooohh.....thanks to the festive season, IFF - I Feel Fat. I have been stuffing myself with food, food and food for the past few days. Besides that, I have been sleeping with a full stomach!!!

Ahhh.......the thought of it really is scaring me.... I feel so bloated - like a puffer fish now.

HELP!

On the eve of my Birthday

It was the eve of my birthday. I was supposed to have dinner and movie with Guardian Angel. I received a call from him asking me to meet him at Craft Brew Brewhouse at Mutiara Damansara. I managed to find my way to that pub/ restaurant with the given directions.

He was there with a few business associates. I joined them for drinks and dinner. Hmm, I must say the decor and drinks that are rather exquisite and nice. Food?! Not too bad, mostly roast pork, roast meat, and of course they serve main courses too. The decor has pipes sticking out from the wall, just like a brewery. And there is a chart on the wall, illustrating the processes of brewing beer.

Just before we left for movies, Lilian arranged a surprise cake for me! It came with an ice cream.
Wow, what a surprise!

Guardian Angel and I.... Thank you, dear!

After the movie, we left for home. As usual, he accompanied me home. It was almost 12am. He took out a big and heavy box from his lappie bag.

The box was wrapped with red hearts. Ahh....so sweet! This was the pressie from my beloved this year!
[Before this, I was indecisive of what I want for my birthday. So, I threw the question back to him : What do you think I need most? And wah lah, he thought of this.]

The next day, he kept on asking me for the time. =)

Thank you, dear! For the simple yet wonderful birthday.

Celebrities

I've never 'met' so many 'celebrities' in one night. I only managed to capture a few photos of them.

Carrie Underwood

David Beckham

The Balance between work and fun

When there is hardwork, there will be a rewarding time, definitely!

The West Malaysian team was awarded for the best launch and capability sessions for System Professional - and I was honoured to receive the award.

Of course, I was also being awarded as the best dressed.

Last but not least, before the night ended, we all raised our glasses many times!

Drink...and drink...and drink.....

And of course, some chats in between...

And....raised the glass again!

And snapping away time......

It was definitely a night of celebration!

Oh, this is me from the back. I bet you can recognise me from behind because of my big hair! Ha!
