A night of Glam

We were invited to attend the MIFW (Malaysia's International Fashion Week) event at Zebra Square on Sunday night. It was the final night for the Fashion Week.

The event was filled with many fashionistas and glamarous celebrities and Datos... Honestly, this event wasn't the best that I have been to.

We sat beside the runway and it made us felt like some VIP or celebrity too... Hahaha

Suki presented 2 songs that night.

Most of the models' weren't the top models or the professionals. The clothes weren't really the most impressive. They were rather too busy with frills or cloths.

The most enjoyable part of the night was after the event was done. We, the marketing team with the sales team and NSM (National Sales Manager) enjoyed the served German beer. Later, we went on our own way home.....

A visit to the Not Well

He sent me a text, telling me that he is still not well. I went over to his house to see how was he doing. Aunty opened the door for me and when I reached his room, he was soundly asleep under the comforter.

He was sleeping like a baby. I touched his forehead, it wasn't hot. Phew. So, I was doing some work and surfed the internet. Later, he woke up. He was suffering from a very bad headache.

We lepakked in his room for awhile. He went downstairs to get a fruit, I guess he was hungry. His bro and Uncle were watching Despicable Me, 3D version at the hall. He took up the 3D specs and later passed to me. (This little act of his made me remember how he never made me a stranger or feel awkward in his house. Thank you, dear!) Yup, they have just gotten a new 40" 3D TV. Wow, it was really big, attached to the wall and it was really a mini cineplex at home. The graphics were awesome!

I didn't stay too long or for dinner at his place. I wanted him to rest. I was happy when he texted me that he was finally going to the doctor later at night. Seemed like he will be on medical leave tomorrow.

Get well soon, dear!

Family Day Out

Today is a public holiday and I spent some quality time with my family because I am normally MIA on the working days. We headed to The Curve for brunch. I suggested to have Hakka cuisine. :)

We browsed through the menu and we ordered ala-carte. We added a plate of fried vegetable with roasted pork. Of course, being a tea lover, we enjoyed a pot of Pu-Er.

The restaurant was rather quite packed (on the other side).

The above was Papa's.

French beans with roasted pork.

And...this was mine..my favourite - Mee sua in yellow wine chicken soup.

A Shop and Movies Saturday

I had a wonderful Saturday.

Leroy picked me up in the afternoon. I was prepared, all ready for a day out at Pavilion with him. We went for shopping and movies :)

I told him to pick his liking Christmas pressie instead of me choosing it. He can pick any design he likes. We walked in to different outlets in Pavvy and finally he found the design he likes.

We walked passed and unexpectedly, I found my pressie - the item and the design which fitted me well. I tried on and it was all great! The attendant got the necessary done for me and we can collect it after our movie.

We headed to Carls Jr for dinner. Yum...the char-grilled burger was just awesome.

After dinner, we headed for our movie. We watched Twilight.

The movie was about 90 minutes long. The usual lovey - dovey story... After the movie, we collected my pressie and off we left the building.

My day was filled with joy and fun choosing pressies. What more a girl could ask for more?

Family time

The traffic was rather heavy yesterday after work as everyone seemed to be going to town. I headed home to have dinner with my family. Leroy had his team's dinner, a welcome dinner for his new colleague.

This was the indulgence I had last night....

The best of both worlds that I always have...

Rakuzen is still one of the best restaurants for Japanese food. Food is fresh and service is good.

The adventurous date

I sent a text to Leroy couple of days back.

"May I date you on Thursday?"

We went on a date today. Just the both of us for dinner and movie. I left work right on time, so did he right after his meeting. We met up at Tropicana Mall. Movie tickets were purchased online. :)

We had a simple dinner. We went for The Adventure of Tintin. I used to read the comics when I was a kid...and I can still remember clearly the dog, Snowy! So cute....

The movie was funny and entertaining. I enjoyed it.

He kept his promise - to accompany me to watch Tintin, even though it was just a so-so movie for him. It's much appreciated!

Am looking forward for another movie with him this Saturday at Pavvy! Yay..!
*Psst, the movie will be Twilight!

The Smell

There was a strong pungent smell of durian in the office this afternoon. My colleague was actually cutting a homemade durian cake. Hmm...... She offered it to all of us in the department.

Yum....it was really good. One of the best durian cake that I have ever tasted! The durian was so compact and the texture of the cake melts in the mouth!

Gosh...there goes an additional of 2kg to my weight.... But it was great to have a cake on a Wednesday afternoon.

Just some night babbles

I braved through the heavy rain and got home; safely. It has been raining almost everyday, every evening and night. The weather is cold.

I have been having dreams quite often lately. My dreams seemed to be a series of scenes. I am not sure if those scenes / dreams will act as dejavu for me.

Had lunch with my mentor today, as usual. We headed for our favourite tom yum noodles in Glenmarie. Yum....the both of us just enjoy food so much. She drove and we were chatting in the car and while in the restaurant.

One of the topics that she brought up was never to regret when a decision is made. If it is good move, great news! If a bad decision was made, just have to move on and face it and never do the same in future, learnt from the mistake; which I am absolutely on the same page as her.

Met up with Leroy for dinner. I was supposed to attend an event at The Gardens, but my work load didn't permit it. I was also partially lazy to drive down all the way there in this kind of weather.

Ok, I think I better hit the bed now. I have been having 5 hours of sleep lately....having some minor sleeping problem here. :S

And Another Wedding...

This month itself, I have attended 2 weddings. One was my bestie's and just over the weekend, was Leroy's ex-colleague's. It was at Corus Hotel, KL. It was my first time to this ballroom. Well, I must say it is either the ballroom was too small, or there were just an overwhelming number of tables to fit it. There was a backdrop for the guests to take photos, and a waiting lounge for us to enjoy a sip of cocktail.

Each wedding has a theme. It could be the best interest of the couple or the love story of how they met. For this wedding that I've attended, the couple met at Starbucks and their relationship blossomed.

The bride was a barista and he came for a coffee...that was how it all started.

So, with this short background, the bride creatively had their door gifts, dinner menu and even the table named with to the types of coffee and any link to this line.

This was the door gift. It was a paper cup with a printed cover around it. Cookies were filled in the cup.

Check out the nutrition facts! I love this part.

So, putting this aside, my comments on the wedding are: the food took quite a long time to be served. The time keeping of the event wasn't as great as my bestie's. 11pm, and dessert was still not being served. There were too many intervals and speeches in between.

And, this was us at the dinner that night. I had a nice time as I got to meet some of his ex-colleagues and also caught up with a couple of his friends who I've met before.

And, we had a group photo with the rest of the friends who attended that night. :)

My Best Friend's Wedding - Part 2

After the tea ceremony at the groom's house, all of us adjourned to the hotel, Premier Hotel in Klang. It is a new hotel in town.

The couple was really sweet that they got the boys and the girls 1 day room each to freshen up and to rest before the dinner starts. We took turns to bath after lunch. I didn't get to rest much because I've made an appointment with MMB's makeup artist to get my make up and hair done.

Wah lah... this was me that day. (Taken while waiting for the boys to be ready for dinner)

This was the dress that I mentioned in my previous blog entry.

Before dinner, we hung around the reception area for the cocktail session. Both Leroy and I had a photo together. :)

I must say the event decorator did an awesome job! The simple reception area was turned into a sweet wonderland that evening; filled with candles and imported flowers.

Yes, the theme was apples...because the couple are apple's (MAC) fans and big time brand loyal user. With the apples decor, it indeed gave a refreshing ambiance.

The bird cage is to capture and lock the wishes from the guests.

This was when the couple did the grand march in. Don't they just looked perfect!

To bind them closer and forever, they had a 'unity of sand' ceremony; combining 2 colors of sands into 1 jar.

And of course, a 'sweet' thank you gift for the guests sincerely from the couple.

While I was enjoying my food and chit chatting with Leroy, it was time for the traditional yum sing session. As usual, the couple, family members were invited on stage. Unusually, even the groomsmen and bridesmaids were invited.....

I was honored to enjoy sips of the champagne. :P

Congratulations to the lovely couple. I was really happy to be present at this lovely, wonderland wedding dinner. I wish the couple all the best in their new path, happy and loving forever.

Great job to the bride who was the mastermind behind all the planning and the groom for being so supportive!

My Best Friend's Wedding - Part 1

One of my favourite movies is "My Best Friend's Wedding", staring Julia Roberts. I used to watch it over and over again, listened to the soundtrack for an umpteen times.

But a movie was a movie. I witnessed my very own Best Friend's Wedding last week.

With a blink of the eye, the busy weekend was over.....but it was the beginning of a beautiful, wonderland story....of my bestie - MoneyMagnetBabe (MMB)... It was the day she began to be Mrs. Lim.....

I was at her house at 8.45am last Saturday. We started to prepare the necessary and helped her with whatever she requested to because she was tied up preparing herself. The main task for the bridesmaids was the gate crashing games...and collecting the ang pows - or shall I say the bribe to open the bride's room door? Lol...

This is a picture of us, all of the bridesmaids with the bride. :)

The last few final touch before the groom and his men come...

It was 10am, when the groom and his team arrived. :) He was really happy and excited that morning.

All of his groomsmen clad in white shirt, black pants and a champagne colored bow tie. The color scheme matched with our dress.

The above shows the groom checking with his men if they were ready to face the challenges and make it easy for him to claim his bride.

Well, after a few rounds of meetings and discussions over FB, this was the first game that we've planned - carrying one on the reflexology platform, barefooted. They have to do 10 times of squats. A very healthy game to start the morning!

The morning was filled with laughter and joy. All of MMB's relatives and family members witnessed the hard work of the groomsmen and the sincerity of the groom.

It was the second game's time. They had to work together to superimpose the dance poses that we downloaded into the Ipad 2. MMB's relatives were the judges. Here was the first pose!

And..here was the second pose. It was supposed to be more sexy and a passionate one...

The final pose was rather difficult. And this time, the groom played along. Hehe.... It was a really funny session and MMB told me after the wedding that she could hear lots of laughter that morning...

3rd game before getting 'dirty' - The guys have to pick out mahjong tiles from an ice box filled with ice and water then arrange them into '13 u'. It was a little tricky because we also added in several jokers..hehe..

Very quickly, they collaborated very closely and got the task done. It was the final task next!
Make up time! One have to makeup the other with eyes blind folded. The makeup session consisted of the application of lipstick, eye shadow and nail polish.

Leroy was supervising and giving instructions to complete the task in a shorter time frame.

When all of the planned games were over, and most importantly the bridesmaids have received the ang pow, the groom finally made his way upstairs. The finale of the games was that the groom needed to serenade a love song to MMB. He sang all his heart out that morning. Salute!

He deserved to claim his bride. :)

After the tea ceremony at MMB's house, we adjourned to the groom's house in Klang.

We arrived in the afternoon that day. There was already a string of firecrackers ready to be set on to welcome the bride and groom.

Welcome, welcome....! *Ang pow, please*
He was really cute.. :)

Leroy was really sporting that morning and it was his first time being a groomsmen. I am glad he had a great time being one. :) Both the groom and bride were really happy that he gave the event so much laughter.

This wonderland story to be continued soon....watch out for the rest of it soon!
