Hot Stone Experience

I took 2 days off last week. One of the days was to run banking errands and the other was more of a free day. So, on that free day after servicing my car, I met up with my friend for a massage. I needed one as my body was quite worked up due to the last weekend warehouse sales.

She brought me to Amante at Aman Suria. She is a member there. I enjoyed the promotion that they were having - Bring a friend and enjoy at a couple promo price - RM168 for Hot Stone Massage (we chose this massage).

I was quite concerned at first that the hot stone could be too hot for my skin. So, I reminded the masseur many times to ensure the stones are not too hot. :P

So, this was they heat up the stones. On an electric hot plate set.
It was quite a different experience I would say. I was quite afraid of the heat at first, but after a few rounds of  rubbing, I find it soothing and really comfortable, especially at the shoulder and neck area. My tension knots were "un-tied".  On top of that, having the Tisserand massage oil with it, it was really de-stressing!

If you are into massages, perhaps you can try this Hot Stone Massage if you haven't experience it before.

The rustic, cozy cafe in town

I've finally found it. I have heard about this cafe in town and the cakes are infamous.

Bon Bon's. It wasn't easy to find it due to the construction of the old Atria Supermarket and honestly, Bon Bon's signboard was quite easy to miss. Instead, I saw the neighboring restaurant's signboard.

This cafe is really rustic (old) but cozy, comfortable and homely. This cafe is owned by a lady who bakes for her mother (think to carry on the recipes or the passion in her).

I have to say her cakes are awesome! So far, I have tried banana walnut and mango cake. The banana walnut tastes really good and rich, while the mango cake was light (not overly creamy) and filled with original mango and flavour. One of  the most original tasting cake ever!

If you plan to buy some cakes home, be prepared to the lady boss' lecture / guidelines on how to eat her cakes. :D
I went through her lecture when I bought some for Leroy's family. It was worth the lecture because they love the cakes!

Post Weekend Review

I had a great weekend. An occupied one - ran some errands and met up with one of my besties for lunch, cooked dinner for the man.

Below were the dishes we had or should I say: the dishes that I experimented on?

1. Salted Black Pepper Squid
2. Sambal fish & squid
3. Stir fry vegetables with big prawns

Below are some of the ingredients that I've used.

Lime leaves, lemongrass and cili padi for the sambal fish and squid

Black pepper + white pepper

Fry the chopped up Capsicum and the peppers for the aroma

And...this was how it looked like. It was still steamy hot when I took this shot.

Honestly, it didn't quite tasted how I imagined it to be and how I wanted it to be. Guess I need to further experiment it.

This was the sambal fish and squid. I've removed all of the leaves and chili so it looked cleaner and easier to eat. This, I have to say tasted not too bad!

And finally, it was the easiest - stir fry vegetables with big prawns. The prawns here really huge before it was cooked. It costed me RM26 for 8 prawns!

On Sunday night, it was an exciting adventure movie night with Leroy and Batman! The legend ends, but it was a beginning of another - Robin. And we sat through the whole credit mentions, anticipating to have some sneak preview to the new movie, but ended up I saw Morgan Freeman (with his hairstyle) has a hairstylist on set and no sneak preview!

Sign In with a giant feather

Flaming and Crunchy Chick

We've been trying out new menus for our meals lately. Here is one of it....

I totally wasn't aware about it when Leroy requested to have KFC for dinner one day after work. He didn't know the name of it, but just said "the new flavour with cornflakes". For a moment I was shocked. KFC came up with fried chicken with cornflakes?! I thought he was pulling my leg.

So, anxiously and curiously I dropped by KFC on the way back and checked it out. Oh yeah, there is such thing on the menu - it is called "Flaming Crunch". Hmm....I ordered one snack plate for him, and I had my usual - the original flavour.

This is how Flaming Crunch looks like. Red and surely looked like there were cornflakes stuck to it.

I pinched some off Leroy's to try. Well, it actually tasted not too bad. For the first time, a spicy flavoured fried chicken was nice! It tasted more like an Indian or Malay friend chicken recipe; and spicy indeed.  The skin was really crispy and crunchy. This is way better than Hot & Spicy version.

Oh yeah, before I forget, if you want a snack plate or dinner plate with Flaming Crunchy, instead of the pre-determined Flaming Crunch set meal, RM0.20 additional is applied for the upgrade.

Spidey tonite!

Yay! I will be leaving office shortly for Spiderman 3D tonight! Woot woot!

Me in the magazine

Me, featured in this month's Nuyou magazine. The beauty editor called me 2 months back and asked if I can provide her with a photo of me traveling to any other countries and the recommended hair care products that I used during the trip. She was working on a feature of a few people using certain products while they travel to a particular country (due to the weather).

........and here you go. This was me in Korea for a vacation.

The Crave vs Guilt

Do you know what this is?

Yup, a pack of nasi lemak. I had the urge of having it today (I have not had it for a loooooooong time now) so I had a pit stop at the stall outside my house to get it for my breakfast.

Boy, I feel so guilty and *fat now!

Justart....

I stumbled across this new outlet in Puchong last night. Just opened for business and the shop purely sells tarts. They had so many different types of tarts, both displayed in the fridge and also the heater.

They were having a special opening promotion - buy 8 free 1, so me being curious to try out the taste, I bought 8 and got 1 free. Gave 5 to Leroy's family and 4 for my family.

These were for my family. The one with the flower topping is mango, chocholate (with the bear biscuit), apple (on the right second row) and lastly kiwi.

My verdict: I didn't taste all of them. I tried the mango and it was quite nice. I like it, especially the crust. Not too sweet but the mango flavour wasn't genuine enough. :P  And there are so many flavours to choose from! Chilled or non chilled available, sweet or savory is also available.

Cute, right?

These were for Leroy's family. Longan, blueberry, Oreo chocolcate, durian and strawberry. :D

Apparently, they had a few other outlets around in Malaysia. One of the plus points is they do cater for occasions or events. So, you might want to consider them if you are holding any parties or functions? The tart's price ranges from RM1.80 to RM2.20, depending on the topping and flavour. They do give a slight discount if you meet their minimum order.

I need a booster

I need coffee! My eyes are closing...... Time for a cuppa!
