The Tom Yum

To continue enjoying the long weekend, I suggested to our friends to have a potluck for Monday's dinner. Since there were huge squids available, so I decided to cook Seafood Tom Yum.

I spent about 3 hours preparing this....Just an apprentice in cooking, so needs a little more time to explore and experiment. :D

Here are the ingredients and seafood all cleaned up and prepared for Gracie's Seafood Tom Yum.

 Squids, tomatoes and onions

Dory fish, prawns, lemon grass and ginger flower

Taaaaaa daaaaa......this was the finished product.

Other than the big pot of Tom Yum to feed four adults, I took some of the remaining squids to have it cooked as another dish - Garlic Butter Squid. On the other hand, Stevie will be preparing the stir-fry kai lans....

Overall, my pot was all cleaned up. I was quite concerned that my buddies didn't enjoy the soup, but later one of them said :" Action speaks louder than words. You see, the pot is all cleaned up and rice is also all gone!"  *Phew, a sign of relieve that they were ok with my cooking. :P

Most importantly, was the feedback from my food critic, Leroy. He said the soup was a bit clear and needed to have more 'Tom Yum' taste. Hmm.....I shall cook this another round and experiment it in some other ways to improvise the taste of the Tom Yum soup.

However, he did thank me for the delicious meal. :D That was what it mattered most - appreciation and gratitude, even though the meal wasn't up to his expectation.
