Coffee & findings at BSC

Saturday morning - after sending Marky Mark to his workplace, we headed to Dome at BSC for morning breakfast and coffee. It was just awesome to enjoy a cuppa to start off my day. It was the 2nd day of the long weekend.

After coffee, we popped by Jasons Food Hall (used to be Jaya Grocer). Wow, it was my first time stepping into it and I love it. There are some many foreign food and I was really fascinated.

Saw this along the aisle - Angry Bird Soda. Cute!

Singing and Croaking away...

TGIF! I was really glad that Friday was a holiday and I only worked for 4 days. Those 4 days weren't easy to sail through as I am still unfamiliar with the systems and processes and the people in the company.

We arranged for Karaoke session on Friday mid morning till afternoon. It was a fun day out with Leroy and friends. We caught up as we haven't been seeing each other for awhile now. We took turns to sing and croak (it was only me croaking away that day cos' I am not a good singer at all).

While on the way to grab some food, there were some Halloween decor around....creepy? Neh.....

With a blink of an eye, 4 hours of singing was up! We paid up and left for our separate ways. Half of the Friday was gone! Boy, time flies when we are having fun!

Little thing that makes me happy

Sometimes a little small gesture makes me happy...something that money can't buy and it will be totally appreciated.

He did one today and he made me smile in my heart. Never thought he would have done so....

Day 2 of my journey

It's day 2 with my new job. Very challenging. Still blur and my eyes are blurry too...I have been reading up on the brand and there are so many collaterals to look at. And...I am learning French...all the Noir, Soir, etc.. *phew* and the different lines of fragrances with their luxury ingredients and characteristics.

My direct superior is a nice lady but she is a really busy person. So far, I have yet to sit down with her for my complete on boarding session.

I hope that I will be able to pick it up real soon so that I feel more at ease in the office.

New Beginning

Tomorrow marks the day of my new beginning in my career path. It is really difficult to leave my comfort zone and move on. But moving on is a better choice than staying back.

I will be working somewhere further from home and somewhere more challenging (as in the work environment). Not sure if the people there will be as friendly and less political or will the place is like a jungle, filled with lions, tigers and crocodiles? My lifestyle or daily habit will need a slight change as well....

Starting a job to me means I have to start all over again in adapting my superior's working style, knowing the company's systems and processes, building a friendship or at least a co-workers relationship and of course, knowing the business that I am doing and the work involved.

I hope that I will be able to fit in real soon.

You snooked me, but I don't snook you

We went back there again yesterday evening. We had 4 rounds of snooker from evening till dinner time; :P  I guess we really enjoy playing it.

And guess what?

We headed back there again after dinner - after lepak-ing at a friend's house for awhile and realised we were both bored. This time, we had 6 rounds of it! By the time we were done, we felt quite tired. :D

Oh, forgot to share with you the results - 5-1. He won 5, me 1. *Sob sob

Great Friday Evening

I had a blast! I am really happy.

It was my 2nd rest day before I embark on a new journey, and I am having a great time every moment.

I ran some errands this morning and also accompanied mama to look for a new top. When we got home, I was feeling quite tired. It was raining as usual and I was really dreading for a nap. So, I had an hour plus of sleep before I headed out for an evening with Leroy and a friend.

While waiting for the men to get off work, I watched some tv.  Leroy came to pick me up and we headed to Setia Walk for dinner and snooker. Wow, counting back, it had been at least 4-5 years since I last held a cue. So, while waiting for Stevie to arrive, the both of us had a round of snooker before dinner. We bet that the loser will pay for dinner. Guess what? I paid for dinner. *sweat*

When Stevie had arrived, we walked around deciding on what to eat.....we randomly picked this and walked in. The food is not really yummy; nothing to shout about.

This was on the wall and it looked cute!

After dinner, we headed back for rounds of snooker. This place is actually quite comfortable as it is new, clean and not many people. I like it.

Leroy also introduced us a new game called Lucky. It is using American pool balls and playing cards. Very challenging and exciting as the player needs to earn a 'passport' to hit the Lucky balls (ball #14 and 15) in order to earn points. If the white ball enters the pocket or meet any form of  foul, the player needs to take an additional card. The objective of this game is to be the first person to finish the 7 given cards.

This was him looking on.....
Thanks Leroy, for bringing me to play snooker! I enjoyed myself very much and had loads of fun!

Goodbye, Fishies!

Not forgetting - I also said goodbye to them..

And I bid my farewell...

...It was quite painful to bid farewell to my fellow colleagues who have been through a lot with me for the past 6 years in total - happiness, , joy, laughter, silly jokes and work stress.

But, I still did say goodbye to them today, heavy heartedly. Till we cross path again...

When it is finished means it's not too bad?

My man came home from a week of business trip and a working weekend, so I thought it would be easier and better to cook him a meal than to food hunt on a Sunday evening.

I cooked this - Seafood Tom Yum Noodles.

I experimented the tom yum soup again with additional ingredients (after getting some advises and tips from my friends / colleagues).....and my food critic (the man who was going to eat it) said it was better than the 1st round; but the soup still doesn't have the 'tom tum fragrant'. Hmm......I wonder what else I need to add in to meet his standard for a Tom Yum soup? *sweat sweat*

He fell asleep on the couch when I was preparing it to be served on the bowl. Awww.....my heart melted. He must have really worn out from work. Poor thing.

Anyway, I had to wake him up when I saw the noodles started to turn 'more chubby'. :P  He finished everything! I was really happy to see him finishing it.... :D  At least it doesn't mean it was awful tasting? :P

Beautiful Sunday Morning....

630am on a Sunday morning, I woke up. Just couldn't sleep, I wonder why. Anyway, I went back to snooze till 8am and it was really time to wake up. My mind was not in peace and it had been like that for the past few days...ever since the 'date' is nearing.

I saw mama was in my room preparing herself for her weekly marketing task. So, I told her that I wanna tag along. She was happy - because I rarely wake up this early on a weekend and moreover going to the wet market with her? Well, I really don't mind walking the wet market as all...I used to go with mama when I was still schooling anyway.

So, papa, mama and I hopped into the car and off we went. The first destination was Subang SS15's wet market. Mama wanted to stock up a little on the roast pork (siu yuk).

Later, we were off to SS2 morning market. My goodness, I totally couldn't imagine the crowd there! It was practically 'human-to-human' under the plastic tents. There were just so many housewives and their 'carrier' (husband or sons). Phew!

While mama was getting some chicken, I snapped this.... hehehehe...just for fun. And yes, that's my mama's hand; giving instructions to the seller on how to chop the chicken.

While mama was at another stall buying some meat, I spotted this! Oh my goodness, I had not been having this favourite snack of mine for umpteen years now. It is glutinous rice (nian gao) + yam slice + sweet potato slice, all 3 fried together with flour. Just so yummy...and now it's selling at RM1 per piece. It used to be only RM 0.60 or so...

And I also spotted another all - time favourite snack - super thin apam.

Ahh......you just couldn't imagine the joy I had that morning with these  food.

Mama was so surprised that I found these food in the market. She herself never knew there were stalls selling them. Ngek ngek ngek... it takes a snacks expert to fine them! :P

After all the marketing tasks were completed, the 3 of us went for breakfast. Ahh......didn't know what was wrong with me that morning, I was greedy and forgotten about my diet.....I whacked down this - NASI LEMAK! I had 3/4 of the rice and I felt really like LEMAK already.... x_x

And yes folks, that was my beautiful Sunday morning's adventure. (As you know it was raining and cooling recently, it really felt great to walk under the morning sun)

Education vs Experience

I totally agree to this.

No doubt education is important and on my opinion, basic education and getting a paper from a college or university is a passport to enter the world of working - reality. But, more importantly is the experience that we gained through our work. The more we get our hands dirty at work, the more stress we get and well handled, the more priceless our experience gets.

So are you really willing to learn?

*these articles are taken from today's Star Newspaper.

I will follow you....

There were 2 little insects stuck on to my car...

Can you spot it in the below photo?

When parking is charged...

It had quite awhile since I last stepped my foot into Carrefour, Subang.

To my utter surprise, with the newly implemented parking system, there are less cars there despite going on a peak hour. Yes, when shoppers have to pay for parking in there. There is free parking for shoppers who shopped for more than RM30 per receipt. Normal parking per hour - RM 1; and it is hourly counted.

Well, I suppose we can now tell how many are actually shoppers than those who park there and takes the LRT to work on weekdays.

The doggie at home

She is one happy doggy..

She welcomes me the moment I step into the house every time.

She shares my breakfast with me every morning (unless she is sleepy).

She is one attentive and loud doggie.

She feels safe hiding under the table.

That's Gabby!

Lil Snails

..... in our fishies tank.

Can you spot them?

Aren't they cute?

A little too adventurous for Jap Food

My parents had a friend's gathering last night, so mama didn't cook dinner. Instead, she was so thoughtful to buy me Japanese food for me (cos she knows I love Jap food).

The below is my first-time-ever tasted Fruit Sushi Roll. She didn't really read the description of it when she ordered. She also knew I like fruits, so maybe she thought this is the best of both worlds - fruits and Japanese Sushi!

Hmm.....this - you need very exquisite taste for food. The outer layer is wrapped with mango and kiwi, topped with sliced strawberry. The inner was pear and a chunk of cream cheese! OMG! I dug out all of the cream cheese because a bite of it make me felt soooooooooo full.

Very pretty, but not really my cup of tea for this combination. A little too adventurous, I guess.

The below is the usual Salmon Sushi roll.

Anyway, to not waste food, I ate all up except for the chunks of cream cheese. Thanks, Mama for buying me dinner!

*These were bought from Sushi Tei.

Oversized...

This was me, with an over-sized glass-less specs.
Too big for me, right?

Was just fooling around in my colleague's car when he went to bank. :P
(It was his specs, by the way)

Mushroomies in my garden

These were what I found in my garden lately. White wild mushrooms.....

At first, there was only one....

....and later there were a pair..... these were with texture on the surface....

....After two days, they turned black..

Friday afternoon at Air Asia

Friday afternoon we headed to Air Asia' building to attend their Guests Services and Flight Attendants' Graduation Day. We sponsored hampers for the best hair styles / well groomed hair winners.

When we arrived, Aireen Omar, the new CEO, was giving her speech. I really admire ladies who are up in the corporate ladder (I did wonder if I will be someone like that someday?). Her speech (the way she delivered it) was soft yet forceful. Everyone paid attention to it.

Just right before we left for the day, we had a picture together with the newly appointed iron lady behind Air Asia and the winners.

A Cafe called The Carpenter's Daughter

I love trying out cafes and also lepak-ing in one.....

I have been to not too many cafes around town, but this is one unique cafe that I've ever been to!

Yes, it's called - The Carpenter's Daughter. The owner of this cafe is actually an ex-IT person. She has been in the IT industry for almost 20 years, but since a year back, she started her own artisan bakery cafe.

All cozy with the wooden decoration and set up, it's actually quite a busy cafe / bakery. The owner, Jin Ling, bakes and sells her breads and cakes with a very 'healthy approach'. Why I do say say that? Simply because  all of her bread, cakes and food are made and used organic, natural ingredients. I am happy that they have vegetarian meals too, so that my bestie can try it out some day!

I have heard of artisan perfumeries, but not an artisan baking so far.....

"Artisan baking" - as I quote from the board hanging behind the cashier counter:

"Hand crafted in small batches using traditional methods with extended fermentation time". All breads and pastries are made from scratch every morning to yield freshness and good taste. Whether it is focaccia, multigrain, fresh herbs, sourdough or speciality breads, we hope you will enjoy our nutritious, wholesome, healthy breads. All bake to perfection in our stone - floored oven.

This is the interior of the cafe....tables with polka dots table cloths.

At the side of the cafe nearing the wall, there are sofa sets for a more casual sitting.... it would be nice to sit there to sip on a cuppa!

Why is it called "The Carpenter's Daughter"? Jin Ling's dad was a carpenter and all of the furnitures and decor were made by her dad.

Looks and feel homely....

I was there all hungry at 2pm in the afternoon, so I chose "All in 1 pan".

I loved it.

So, if you wanna just laze around or enjoy a healthy meal while catching up with friends or family, you may wanna drop by.

Till Technology "do us part"

It was one of the weekends where we went for dinner. In front of us, from where we were sitting, was a couple. One was surfing Facebook, and the boyfriend was watching movie.

Both of them had an Ipad in front of them while they were dining. Not much of communication through out the meal till they left.

What is technology turning people into now? Less bonding, less talking physically?

Angry Bird in My Bowl !!!

Oh no!!!!!! There is an angry bird in my bowl of noodles!  x_x

We had lunch at Kiki's Restaurant, in KLCC. It was my first time trying out this Taiwanese food outlet. I was super hungry that day and ordered a seafood noodles.

....and while it was served, as I was stirring it to let it cool off a little, I spotted the red angry bird! This noodles was actually yummy. The soup was rich...

Luckily it was just a fish cake, or else I will be screaming my lungs out!

Water colors on my arm

We went to the annual Beauty Expo at KLCC. We had not much of dealings there, but we just went to look-see and waited for time to meet up with a magazine's editor.

Nothing much to see at the expo, honestly.. However, we walked passed this booth. This school originated from Taiwan.... There were a few tutors there, explaining their courses and also demo-ed their skills.

One of it was a free-hand drawings with brush and water-colour looking ink. It is totally washable. This lady, Ai Ching (looking from her signature), drew a design on my arm....with no reference to a design book or etc.  I had my arm painted for free!

Check it out! Totally drawn free hand, using a normal water color paint brush.

Holding on...

to it.....no matter how difficult it might get...

I saw this dragonfly when I was at Leroy's house. It was filled with perseverance....which I admire.

Thank You Lunchie

We had a good quarter - with our sales achievement. The management gave us a lunch celebration at Pantai Seafood after our monthly sales meeting.

In conjunction of the lunch celebration, it was also partly to give me a farewell (12 more days will be my last day with this company, which I've worked in for 6 years).

Mr Wong, the Executive Director presented a bouquet of flowers to me. He thanked me for my contribution to the company. All the effort and work that I have done for the brands. It was also very kind of him to offer my hair services by the experts anytime I want. Yay...! (Just wondering if I have the time to come back for it :P )

*I am the only person so far that he presented flowers to and offered hair services. I am soooooo lucky*

6 pink roses.

..And a thank you card.

So, besides eating, we were busy snapping away. It will be my last time of taking photos with the team, especially those from outstation.

6 years being with them (some 2 years). We are close to each other. I've spent most of my time in the office anyway, so they are like family to me. Thick and thin, happy and stress, we embraced them together.

With the management and 2 outstation sales consultants.

This is my 'papa-san'. He is very jovial and cheery always.

My top Penang Sales Consultant - Sean.

And this is my Mama-San. She takes good care of me and we worked together very well. I sometimes turn to her for advises.

Papa-san and Mama-san.

This is my NSM - Weng. We also had the silly jokes and stressful days together this 2 years.

My partner- in -crime in the office. She will be alone temporary till the company hires another person to take over my position. We attend events together, split the work and had lots of fun along the way.

Another one of my top sales consultants for Central region. Very sporting, sexy and humorous lady.

And, of course, they were having a great time singing away. Sang with full of passion and emotions. So sweet of them that they sang a song, specially dedicated to me. :D

We had so much fun and laughter that afternoon. By the time we were done, my face / cheeks were tired from laughing.

Sob sob.....I know I am happy to leave this company to learn new things out there, but I do also miss these people. They have taught me a lot and the closeness we had....a good friendship is not easy to come by.
